Basketball coach Anthony Grant was hired to bring Alabama basketball 'to the next level' and he hasn't delivered so far. He's getting paid just under $2M a year and he may not have that much longer before they cut him loose. Saban was involved with his hiring, telling Grant (and presumably other candidates) that he wanted a dynamic, electric atmosphere at the games. Not so much for the sake of basketball in and of itself, but Saban wanted to have something to show the football recruits when they come to visit. And if basketball looks bad, it makes Saban angry.

FWiW the game was good .

I'm not a roundball guy , but can watch NCAA and enjoy March Madness ( on account of the gambling ) .
I despise NBA .

Today is National Signing Day, where high school student athletes sign and fax in their letter of intent, committing to their college of choice.

A couple of years ago, Alabama had a "fax cam girl" where a hottie would retrieve the faxes and post their names on the board. This was a huge hit, and other schools whined about Alabama doing this because they didn't think about it first.

So Alabama had to stop it, but other fans sites continued the tradition.
