Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse... but you take a boat in the air that you don't love... she'll shake you off just as sure as the turn of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she ought to fall down... tells you she's hurting before she keels. Makes her a home.  -Mal

Bama has a suffocating defense (and as the old adage goes, defense wins championships), but apparently the public wants to see football games be more like basketball games. Trade scoring opportunities and go from there. Hopefully Alabama will get another OC and sling it down the field and rack up 7-800 yards a game hold their opponents to less than a hundred and give the nation even more reason to hate us.  O0

The public must have loved the Washington/Baylor game then. That was an obscene offensive showdown.

And I'm thinking you weren't burdened with an overabundance of schooling.

I don't really like 9-6 games any more than I like 58-54 games. What I do like is 58-6 games where Bama hangs 58 on folks, see the opposing team driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their cheerleaders.

As expected, Alabama players Trent Richardson, Dont'a Hightower, and Dre Kirkpatrick will leave for the NFL. Coach Saban scored points with mommas and daddies by making Richardson & Kirkpatrick promise they will return at some point to get their degree. Both are very close; Hightower is a graduate with one more year of eligibility. Saban scored points with prospective recruits by calling a presser to show three of his players leaving early to make millions in the NFL.

Richardson mentioned that it was a difficult decision, but he had to put his daughters first. They live in Pensacola with their mother. Richardson has their names tattooed on his arms to remind him what he is working for. Growing up in a housing project, Richardson swore his children would not be so burdened.

The talking heads project Richardson might be headed to Cleveland. Mike Holmgren had a bit of success with another Alabama RB, Shaun Alexander. Hopefully Trent will be even better.

And since we were speaking of Bobby Hebert, oddsmaker Danny Sheridan Tweeted that one of the reasons Hebert was so pissed was that he was on the wrong side of a sizable wager (with his son on the LSU team). Hebert was scheduled to be on the Finebaum radio show at this time, but Finebaum said that Hebert was called into a 'meeting with management' with his bosses at WWL.
