Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse... but you take a boat in the air that you don't love... she'll shake you off just as sure as the turn of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she ought to fall down... tells you she's hurting before she keels. Makes her a home.  -Mal

Got a couple of hours in last night. Great game so far! I love the huge open world and find myself just exploring instead of following any of the quests.

With Fallout: New Vegas at last reaching store shelves, and the vice-grip of Fallout addicts everywhere, it's time to see what the equally-ensnared press thought of the game.

Here is a pretty vast collection of New Vegas reviews we've seen so far. We'll of course add to the list as more start to pop up.

Eurogamer (9/10): "New Vegas may jump across America for its setting, and forward several years in the timeline, but it's a seamless continuation of what Bethesda set in motion in 2008 with Fallout 3."

GamePro (4.5/5): "It closely matches Fallout 3 in terms of depth and content; if you loved the original, you'll probably love this one as well."

Official Xbox Magazine UK (9/10): "All you have to do is listen to the post-game chatter of those that have played it and you'll learn that, sure enough, Obsidian has created something that's consistent yet unpredictable enough that everyone's adventure feels like it's something unique and worth sharing."

IGN UK (9/10): "Like 3 and Oblivion before it, New Vegas is a game to share stories about, one that lets you carve your own path through a beautifully constructed world."

The Guardian (5/5): "Writing this review has been difficult simply because I've been itching to strap on my Pipboy, get back to the wasteland and do a bit more exploring – there's nothing quite like it. I think you'll feel the same."

Destructoid (9/10): "While newcomers will find plenty to love, this is most certainly a game developed with lifelong fans in mind."

GameInformer (8.5/10): "If Fallout 3 holds a place among your top 10 games of this generation like it does for me, another rewarding 200-plus hours of survival awaits you."

Planet Xbox 360 (8.8/10): "The Mojave wasteland is packed with memorable locations and characters and is a worthy followup to Fallout 3."

The Escapist (4/5): "New weapons, characters and locations, plus a fresh sensibility marry to make New Vegas a near-perfect continuation of the series."

Avault (5/5): " New Vegas is a game that excels on all levels, and you'll want to keep playing just to see how the story unfolds."

And a bunch more:
