Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse... but you take a boat in the air that you don't love... she'll shake you off just as sure as the turn of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she ought to fall down... tells you she's hurting before she keels. Makes her a home.  -Mal

And I'm thinking you weren't burdened with an overabundance of schooling.

I should hope so, considering the book ...

"Those are brave men, let's go kill them"

It's nice here with a view of the trees
Eating with a spoon?
They don't give you knives?
'Spect you watch those trees
Blowing in the breeze
We want to see you lead a normal life

"So young" said Wyman Manderly. "Though mayhaps this was a blessing. Had he lived, he would have grown up to be a Frey."

Foreshadowing?

Jon Snow and Dany from Rolling Stone.
Can't be. Jon Snow is alive in that picture.

My good friend Melanie said she is through with the series because of that. I told her that 1) thanks for the spoiler, just started the second book and 2) there's dead, deadish, and no so dead after all. She'd hear none of it.

Since you are spoiled already, we don't see Jon die. All we know is that, at minimum, he blacked out from his POV. We have no other POV showing him dead. Personally I don't think he is dead, because his dying doesn't make sense plot wise at that point in the story (won't say anymore about that). I don't know which of the crazy theories for him being alive/resurrected makes sense to me, but I am 99.9% positive in my mind that he is not dead.
