Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse... but you take a boat in the air that you don't love... she'll shake you off just as sure as the turn of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she ought to fall down... tells you she's hurting before she keels. Makes her a home.  -Mal

One of the podcasts I listen to (Galactica Water Cooler) touched on Chuck briefly in this week's episode.

They typically talk Galactica but since that is on extended hiatus, they have been tackling other sci-fi movies/shows in the interim. They've done the Star Wars movies, the Matrix, and finishing up this week with the Terminator franchise. They devote the majority of the show to T:SCC but did talk Chuck for a few. Two of the (really charmingly geeky) hosts saw a few minutes of Chuck on Hulu and bought the DVD box set and fell in love with it. They are Browncoats as well, as they refer to Casey as Jayne and even say Casey is as much Jayne as Cameron is River. They sounded like they were going to devote an episode to Chuck later on; I'll be sure to post when it hits.

But this is one of the best podcasts I've ever heard. Check it out.

Hey, Phyll, got my 2nd DVR today!  Got it all hooked up.  Set to record T:SCC and a rerun of House (the 1st DVR is recording Chuck and Dancing w/the Stars for my girl).  Stupid remote is not working right but they said to take it by the office and get a new one.  We'll see how that works.  Our tv in the bedroom is ancient, so it probably won't work with the new remote but I'm used to that.

I don't know how I lived without one all these years and now I have two. I kept the VCR
people in business though but it was always so annoying not to be able to tape more than
one show and if you had a cable box you never could use the VCR like it was meant to be
used by taping one show and watching another since with mine anyhow it would only tape
if the TV was set on that channel, so trying to record shows if you went on vacation was
a joke since you could only record one channel. I'll be interested to see if the channel thing
works for you.  :)

DVRs rock. You'll never watch TV the same way again.

The thing is, when I needed one years ago...they didn't exist...then, when I had the money to buy one (when they as yet were not invented) there wasn't enough on tv worth watching. Now, enough to have to juggle/choose/rewatch later via hulu/on demand....but NO MONEY!! *pout*

Nope.  It's the same as my other DVR.  If I'm recording 2 shows at once, I have to watch either one of the shows recording or something already on the DVR.

I didn't buy one. They come with my cable box hook up and we just asked for the DVR when we got new cable boxes
for the HD TVs. The DVR is incorporated in the new cable box. Of course we pay extra for it every month on our bill
but it isn't something we bought separately. I do think that Tivo sets are separate though and some people do have
those kind.

I didn't think I'd EVER get one.  But our cable company provides the DVR (so I didn't have to go out and buy a TiVo) and they charge $15 a month.  I think that's about what you'd pay for TiVo service, but you have to buy the TiVo box, I believe.
