Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse... but you take a boat in the air that you don't love... she'll shake you off just as sure as the turn of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she ought to fall down... tells you she's hurting before she keels. Makes her a home.  -Mal

I loathed them with a passion. They were completely and totally worthless.

One man's hi-larious is another's blank staring.

I'm watching them ( S6 ) right now , well when I'm home , and still getting a kick out of them . But as Buffy's main nemisis , they are pretty weak .

Warren , *is* freaking Ev0l though .

Maybe my humor batteries needed replacing when I saw them, but I could not stand them. At all.

And Andrew was even worse by himself later on.

He is my favorite Buffy villain.
And I'm thinking you weren't burdened with an overabundance of schooling.

You didn't like them .
I can so totally see and understand .
And Andrew was pretty annoying in S7 .
At least until the video ep .
And I did enjoy the D&D game the gang played on their "Last night" .

As for Jonathon , I always felt sorry for his character .
Doubly so when Andrew murdered him .
Afterall - he was pretty much an ally of Buffy , even when working against her .

I loved the scene where he presented Buffy with her medal at the Prom .

To me, there were a lot of parallels in the last two seasons of Buffy and 24 S6. For me, the show no longer 'worked' and I was watching out of a sense of obligation and not much more. There were moments of brilliance in both, but too far and too few between.

I never even started watching Buffy until after Firfly bit it .
So , even though what I was watching was less than the first five seasons , it was still very good in my eyes .

Then to go back and watch it ( and Angel ) straight on through ?

No other tv experience has ever come close .
I'm sad it took me six+ years to "get it" but when I did , it was profoundly satisfying .

Except that whole cancelling Angel after the best season ever .

That still pisses me off .

He's just so weaselly misgynistic and I think he's actually oblivious to this .
Add to that his non-hesitation in dumping his "friends" as a matter of convienience and you do get a pretty ev0l character .

And still , he's funny .

I just watched the bit where Spike was threatening the boys' Boba Fett figurine .
I could totally relate to their angst .

:)

One of my best friends resisted Buffy forever, but she finally started from the start and got it. But she was a Buffy/Angel shipper and didn't really care for the later seasons and never would watch Angel. I've done everything short of pulling a Clockwork Orange and tying her to the chair and forcing her eyes open to watch Firefly, to no avail. She watched the first two and bailed; I tried to explain that those were among the worst, but she'll not watch another.

Ann & I are watching House, an episode or two a night when we can. Really good stuff. The medical inaccuracies are driving Ann nuts at times, but the writing otherwise is just so good.

I have yet to see an ep of House .
For that matter , Scrubs as well .
Which I think must be a shame , what with the accolades and all .

I fear my biggest problem lays in that when faced with a choice of watching something on tv or tossing in a dvd , the dvd wins every time .

I *am* fortunate that Joy has the patience of Job when it comes to my particular viewing habits .

( that and she does secretly enjoy Buffy et al -well at least everyone but Buffy )

Our TV habits are such that we usually record what we want to see and zip through the commercials, with few exceptions. Even with LOST we will pause the DVR for 10-15 minutes, put on the dishes, laundry, whatever, and pick it up that way. I don't know if I'd have the patience to sit through a couple hours of tv if I had to endure the commercials.

We are watching House on DVD sans commercials. Kind of like what you did catching up with 24. Next up we plan to tackle Farscape that way. Should the actors go on strike, the only thing I'd really miss is new LOST episodes. BSG is still great, but after it being gone for over a year much of the luster wore off for me.
