Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse... but you take a boat in the air that you don't love... she'll shake you off just as sure as the turn of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she ought to fall down... tells you she's hurting before she keels. Makes her a home.  -Mal

Non. Stop. Campaign.

Spooky

To be fair, Bush's did a taped appearance on Idol in '07 thanking folks for giving money to charity. Obviously not for campaigning purposes, since he couldn't run in '08.
And I'm thinking you weren't burdened with an overabundance of schooling.

I wish people would stop freaking out about this. President Bush taped something, too.

It's not like he's SHOWING UP on the show. He can't. It's too high-profile an event.

Crystal Bowersox Saved – Nice!  :headbang: She really loosened up the pipes tonight!

Andrew GarciaHound Dog – Bad song choice. Sang it well enough, but I started reading emails about 30 seconds in.

Tim UrbanCan't Help Falling In Love –  I'm sorry Turban, for all the bad things I've said and thought. That was a very good performance. He still doesn't have the voice most of the others have, but he has grown quite a bit in a short time and it's cool to see someone respond like that.

Lee DeWyzeA Little Less Conversation – I can hear him sing this in my head even before he performs tonight.  :headbang: As expected with this song. Perfect song choice and very well performed. He kind of has that Elvis snarl-smile going on.

Aaron KellyBlue Suede Shoes – Aaron looks like a munchkin standing near Adam. A bit karaoke in the beginning, but he picked it up, performance wise, near the end. Meh

Siobhan MagnusSuspicious Minds – I don't know. She sang it OK, but I was hoping for something a bit different. I agree with Kara and Simon. Listen to the criticism girl! They aren't saying what they are saying to put you down. They really want you to do well. Take a page from Turban's play book and let this experience help you grow as a performer.

Michael LyncheIn The Ghetto – Great tone. Not to shabby. I didn't care for the arrangement, it was too different. I guess I want hear the "in the ghetto" lyric like Elvis sang it.

Katie StevensBaby, What Do You Want Me To Do – Didn't think I was going to like it, but she really did a good job. "Horny Song"  :loloeo:

Casey JamesLawdy Miss Clawdy – Not bad? Not great either. Agree with Simon. Good vocal, but forgettable performance.

My favs of the night.

Lee
Crystal
Tim
Katie
Michael
Siobhan - Casey
Aaron
Andrew

How the hell did Turban get up there?

Elvis night was the downfall of Chris Daughtry. He sang "A Little Less Conversation" and "Suspicious Minds," but don't get weirded out...

I was doing my back exercises again, and stopped to listen to everybody except Andrew, Katie, and Casey.

I was waiting for Tim's falsetto at the end of the song, like Adam suggested. It would have worked.

Is Lee like related to Elijah Wood or something? Hmm....  He seems to be one of those singer/musicians who isn't into being cheesy. I'd compare him to Bo Bice, but maybe a little less seasoned than Bo. Some people being loose on stage just doesn't work. It borders on being flirty, like Casey or a better example, Constantine. But it worked for Constantine.

Poor Aaron looked like he was having a crisis, like this is a rough experience for him. But ultimately, I think it will be good for him. He is young and it's ok to be new to this.

Siobhan's performance was strange. It really could have worked; just needs a little more tweaking. Wasn't bad though.

I was ok with Michael's arrangement of "In the Ghetto." It had a "What's Going On" vibe to it. Still love the original. No one like the King.

Casey could have been better ~ do you think maybe he felt rushed because they were trying to make the Glee premiere? I'm not sure, but maybe.

Andrew is going the Chuck home. Doesn't mean he's done but he's going home. Oh well.

Crystal, Tim (!), Lee and Michael.

Just listed to Andrew's version of "Stright Up"... What Happend Dawg? That was so good! I would have never bet money that Tim would performing better at this point in the competition than Andrew.  :wall:

Yep.

Aaron and Tim should be the next ones to go.

The talent points to Lee, Crystal and Michael in the end.

Siobhan is kind of a toss-up.

The girls really bombed this year.

It is TMZ, so....

'American Idol' Front-Runner Almost Quit
Originally posted Apr 16th 2010 1:00 AM PDT by TMZ Staff
TMZ has learned "American Idol" contestant Crystal Bowersox threw in the towel a little more than two weeks ago and was walking off the show, when Ryan Seacrest did some fast-talking and changed her mind.

It went down in a parking lot after an "A.I." show.  In front of several people, Crystal told Ryan she couldn't handle the competition.... she said she hated the attention and said to Seacrest, "What's the point?"

Crystal said she was going back to Ohio to be with her family, whom she missed terribly.

Ryan told Crystal that being on "Idol" was like starting a business, and if she won she'd get a recording contract and become a millionaire.

Seacrest sealed the deal by telling her, "The greatest thing I ever did was make enough money so I could buy my mom a house.  You can buy your mom a house."

Seacrest out ... Crystal, not out.
