Meh.

Where was the "snappy" dialogue ?

In several interviews, Joss has said that the first five are a think unto them selves and them he starts being able to tell the story more like he wants too. We'll see, but yeah... Meh.

Best part was seeing Grrrr Arghhh at the end.
And I'm thinking you weren't burdened with an overabundance of schooling.

Lame credit sequence .

But yeah , Yay Amy !

She look rather cute, even with the scars.
And I'm thinking you weren't burdened with an overabundance of schooling.

Jessi and I had missed so much of T:SCC that we were totally lost, but seeing Summer is just cool. The nice thing is, they found a kid to play John that isn't an adult, so we can actually see him age! He actually looked like he could have been related to his 'uncle' and his 'dad'.
can someone tell me who the dark haired/accented chick is? And how did the the wrist slittin' girlfriend know about 'the machine'?
As to "Dollhouse"...it did not blow me away. I wish it would have, I really wanted it to. I just kept seeing things that I knew were 'studio influenced' and Jessi kept seeing some really bad camera angles, editing gaffs and other technical stuff. BUT, when they had really good incidents of those type things, we both went 'whoa'....(like the transition from her carrying and comforting the little girl, then walking out 'cleaned'). I don't get the premise of them actually using REAL people's life stories/histories...just for the reason that we saw tonight. I thought they were going to be completely fabricated, created personnas....I guess we'll get some more info as it goes, just hope they give us a chance to figure it out. I noticed on Tim Minear's facebook that he's been working/editing, so I'm hoping/assuming this is the project.

I'm just always gonna give my BDH's a chance, even if the project would never be my kind of deal. I watched "The Inside", and just couldn't stick with it...almost didn't watch "Leverage" cuz the previews made me thing it was a totally different premise, so glad I watched for Mark (now it's my fave). I can't wait for "Castle", cuz it just looks like I'll love everything about it.

So, even though Jessi and I had our own little viewing 'party' (got a message from Gingi that she was with Tabin), we had a good time. Couldn't believe how alike Summer and Elisha looked standing side by side. Gonna miss the upcoming cons they are sure to be at. *pout*

If I did not know this was a Joss Whedon show, I would not know it was a Joss Whedon show. It seemed like a second tier crime drama with some sci-fi elements, something NBC might produce. Nothing great, nothing terrible, nothing that would make me tune in more than a time or two. Bionic Woman was more intriguing than this and we know how that ended.

It looks like Echo is River 2.0 with the seemingly incoherent babbling that really means a whole lot if you pay attention and put together all the clues. Didn't like the seemingly incoherent babbling that really means a whole lot if you pay attention and put together all the clues when River did it, still don't like the seemingly incoherent babbling that really means a whole lot if you pay attention and put together all the clues when Echo does it.

If my daughter were kidnapped and her life was at stake, would I go to a real hostage negotiator or someone who thinks they are? Hmmm....

Maybe it will get better, but at least Joss has that career in writing comic books to fall back on.

For me, the best part about it was seeing Heilo and Fred.

I kinda like babbling incoherent River so that's not a problem .
And yes , I think that Echo is River.2 .
The one we were robbed of when Firefly was smothered in it's crib .

I agree with the not recognising this as a Joe Swedon show without seeing his name in the credits . Perhaps the suits influenced the snappy banter ?
Or is Joe Sweden now mailing it in ?

Helo and Fred ( cute scars - there's an ep or two ) were the best bits by far .
I am intrigued by the hottie Asian chick ( and by intrigued I mean aroused )

Echo herself is gonna have to stretch in ways that Eliza never has if she's going to be the main focus .
I'm afraid that she's no Summer Glau/SMG .

This was easily Joss's weakest effort at a pilot ( Trainjob included ) , C+ would be my grade and if the show improves ( as it's pedigree should insist ) perhaps the pilot will gain traction in retrospect .

I'll be there next week .
If only to wait for BSG .

It's nice here with a view of the trees
Eating with a spoon?
They don't give you knives?
'Spect you watch those trees
Blowing in the breeze
We want to see you lead a normal life

I just about exploded with joy when I saw that. It made the Joss back on TV more real.

The "snappy dialogue" being missing is probably part of the dumbing things down. However I loved the line, "She also has asthma." That just made me laugh for some reason.

Overall I liked it and I hope Joss gets his chance or that we get the DVDs. :)

I suspected this show was going to bomb out of the starting gate. Maybe with time but I don't know if it
has it. You know I have a feeling and this is just me in my convoluted thinking but Fox had said they wanted
to work with Joss again. Why? The only reason would be is that they recognized they blew it with Firefly
and wanted a second chance at another Firefly. They couldn't admit for reasons of stubbornness, ego, pride,
that they were wrong so they were hoping Joss would give them another show like that. He hasn't. If they
had just begged Joss to bring back Firefly and at the time this was going down it was possible to have most
of the actors back since Nathan wasn't that busy and Chuck was up in the air and I think the others would
have been willing to do it then maybe we would have had something to cheer about. Joss is still bitter about
Firefly and that is the story he wanted to tell and still does. It looks like to me that too many were not willing
to say "you were right", "we were wrong", "let's bring it back." Now Joss is in the same position again and
so is the studio and no one is happy.

I think Joss just had way too much fun with Dr. Horrible and his free creative reign. It really makes no sense to hire Joss for his genius and then to tie his hands. I suspect he is only doing this show because it's Eliza's show and he is doing her a favor. If it weren't for her he would doing things differently.

I think that he will still be Joss just undercover, the trick will be to find his wit since it has to be buried to not confused the others.

I have always believed the BDHs need to become known before a sequel goes into production. We can't have folks asking "Who's that?'
I am sure they would all just love to work together again for the fun and the love. The money is a different issue and we aren't there yet.

I trust in Joss and will continue to tune in to see how it develops.  :)

Yeah, Fox came to Dushku and asked her to do the show, she said she'd do it if Joss did, they said if you think you can get him, go for it.
