Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse... but you take a boat in the air that you don't love... she'll shake you off just as sure as the turn of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she ought to fall down... tells you she's hurting before she keels. Makes her a home.  -Mal

I just read an article posted on Whedonesque that was put up a few days ago where he talks about it and
how he hid it from cast members or so he thought.  All those years he spent trying to hide something that
no one was surprised about. That's the really sad part. Most people did know.

I agree. My sister Carol and her friend attended the Serenity Premiere and after party with me. They went to say hi to Sean because he was their favorite and they had a huge crush. I'm not sure what or how he greeted them but their gaydar went off immediately and walked away heartbroken. I still remember my sis telling me and the look on her face.

Yes, it was kind of obvious when he came on panels. He had the mannerisms many young gay men have.
Women are usually pretty astute about picking up on this.

Well, I'm late to this party, but I'll chime in. I remember it being discussed on the OB. I figured he was. Then, as Rosie stated, even with the beautiful 'date' on his arm for the Premiere, it was very obvious meeting him in person...but then, it was also obvious seeing on the panel in '04...so, yeah, I thought everyone knew. Anyone who follows him on Twitter and see's his messages about his kids with no mention of a wife/girlfriend, and the photo he had for the 'no hate' campaign (even tho it's also got Jewel in it), just verified it.

I remember in the early days there was a hottie thread for him on the OB but that faded quickly. There was
a couple over there and the wife thought he was just as sexy as can be. I think Adam thought it had gone on long
enough and she was going to be very disappointed when she found out he was gay so Adam let the cat out of the
bag years ago. I forget how he phrased it now but I was always surprised no one really picked up on his comment
at the time. She didn't even comment on it and I know Adam didn't want to say anymore so it was dropped.
