I played in the beta -- I enjoyed the heck out of it, with its wall-climbing and getting in and out of mechs.

Further reading shows that it is for 48 hours from the time you begin to play, not this weekend or not when you start the download. The clock starts when you start gameplay and doesn't stop when you pause or whatever.
