Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse... but you take a boat in the air that you don't love... she'll shake you off just as sure as the turn of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she ought to fall down... tells you she's hurting before she keels. Makes her a home.  -Mal

Digby, I notice Cornwell didn't write the books in chronological order. Is it better to read them in written order or try and read in chronological order?
And I'm thinking you weren't burdened with an overabundance of schooling.

It's nice here with a view of the trees
Eating with a spoon?
They don't give you knives?
'Spect you watch those trees
Blowing in the breeze
We want to see you lead a normal life

Only 4 chapters in and I am liking it! I like Mr. Cornwell's writing style and he has done a great job of making Sharpe a likable character. I already hate a couple of characters and hope they get what is coming to them.

Easily my favourite historical series .

( although I will state his "Warlord" series  about King Arthur is a masterpiece )

No

"Sharpe's Rifles"

( the book series starts ( non-chronological ) with "Eagle" . "Rifles" was written specifically for the tv series .

Sharpe's Indian adventures are from more recent books .

That said , in the tv series he does have post Waterloo Indian adventures which do poach from the books .

:)
