Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse... but you take a boat in the air that you don't love... she'll shake you off just as sure as the turn of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she ought to fall down... tells you she's hurting before she keels. Makes her a home.  -Mal

I found more depth in the Finn/Cory tribute on "Glee" just now. (Lea Michele's (Rachel) rendition of "To Make You Feel My Love" is beyond touching. Naya Rivera (Santana) sang "If I Die Young;" she has such a gorgeous voice.

I had dropped Glee a while back but picked it back up when Jessi was on that time. I kind of kept up with it since then and sort of watch it, fast-forwarding through songs and/or story and catch the highlights. But the tribute episode to Cory Monteith was pretty emotionally devastating. Lea Michelle said she never considered not coming back to the show, you can't quit life and these people are her family.

Only reason to watch Glee was when Jessi was on! What broke me down I think was that song that Lea sang. "To Make You Feel My Love" is actually Bob Dylan's song, recorded by Garth Brooks (great version) and Adele (stunning). I was crying throughout the episode; the whole situation just being so sad.

Quote from: TinkTanker on October 11, 2013, 07:23:31 AMI remember rolling my eyes when they showed previews for Sleepy Hollow, but I find it entertaining and thrilling.[/i]

I'm surprised how much it has grown on me. It's over the top goofy one minute and fairly serious the next. I hope we haven't seen the last of Pez-dispenser Sulu cop.

I loved the scene where he was talking about the sadness of losing his wife and he's actually talking to a North (On) Star employee. It was just played very well. But then again, I'm biased cause Tom Mison was born in England.

Quote from: TinkTanker on October 11, 2013, 07:23:31 AMI think SHIELD is dropping the ball by centering the stories around Skye, but Joss loves his female characters. It's like he couldn't get Eliza Dushku so he settled for Chloe Bennett and her boobs. Episode 2 featured Colson's ex in her wifebeater, leaning over a lot.

I saw an interesting comparison to the ratings of SHIELD and that superhero family show with Michael Chiclets and Rita from Dexter. They are almost exactly the same for the first three weeks. I think ABC/Marvel/Disney will continue to stick with SHIELD unless the ratings tank pretty badly. It's like a one-hour (well, 42 minute after the other commercials) commercial for the movies and comics. They have a year, so who knows.

Someone also said that SHIELD is like Raylan Givens and Hydra is Boyd Crowder. SHIELD is ostensibly the good guy but will skirt the law and break the rules when it suits them. Joss has always been about shades of grey instead of black and white and good guys and bad guys, especially when it comes to the government and government organizations. Unless a socialist is running things.

Givens/Crowder! That's funny as hell but so true.

The last 2 eps were written by Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen.

Everything should be approved by Joss.

The weakest characters for me are Skye and Simmons. I want to recast him with David Blue. I just don't love him, although I do understand him. Fitz I neither like nor dislike, she's pretty.
Skye seems like a strong River and a weak Faith character. I like Agent Ward. Not sure why but I do. I love May and Coulson.

The show needs to build up and get going. I believe it will.

I don't understand why folks were surprised by the huge drop. We had RECORD numbers for the premiere. People stopped and watched but that was a special occasion. I really liked the premiere and I am enjoying the ride. The team of AOS is figuring things out, both on and off screen.

I really hated the first 5 eps of Dollhouse. Then it got much better. I'm sure things will improve, especially when Ziva leaves I am guessing.

Ziva left 2 weeks ago, last week was the "Ziva aftermath/she's not here" episode.

I'm not sure what the show needs; the writing could be better.

It's not following any comics (storylines) is it?

MAoS has elements from the comics, but only in passing.

It has to get better, right? Right?

The show is only slightly improving or not at all improving in areas that it should be by now. Whereas it was a slightly better episode than last week, that fact that it still remains a mediocre spy show with one-note characters doesn't give it an improving grade. Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is going to have to rise above this mediocrity to deserve a grade above mediocrity.

And I'm thinking you weren't burdened with an overabundance of schooling.

I'm having fun with it - but it ain't no Buffy/Angel/Firefly and actually lags behind Dollhouse at this point .

Also lose the extra engines and shouldn't the untied down vehicles be facing towards the tail ?

I'm getting the feeling that Joss's heart is not in this one.

I'm doubt anyone's heart is in this one.

Just a WAG, but I don't think Joss really has his hands on this one that much. I think his brother and SIL are far more involved in the day to day operations than he is. I think his name is on the show and not a whole lot more.
