Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse... but you take a boat in the air that you don't love... she'll shake you off just as sure as the turn of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she ought to fall down... tells you she's hurting before she keels. Makes her a home.  -Mal

"Ann and Carol watch it ..."

Is your sister-n-law back with you Tink?  I thought she moved out?

TinkTanker

Yeah, she's been back for a while now. Not a terribly good situation.

Ugh. I'm sorry to hear that. :(

Coulson wearing a suit and tie and dress shoes in a beach assault was a little silly

That's his superhero costume

It's nice here with a view of the trees
Eating with a spoon?
They don't give you knives?
'Spect you watch those trees
Blowing in the breeze
We want to see you lead a normal life

I am however all for giving shows a chance but I found it interesting that many of the comments about the show were the same
criticism I had so I guess it wasn't just an age thing.

I'm not seeing the Jossy Jossness humor that is typical with his shows. It's just a generic show to me. Like I said before, it takes time for a show to hit its stride and so far this one hasn't. Ann and Carol watch it, so I'm pretty much forced to as well. Coulson wearing a suit and tie and dress shoes in a beach assault was a little silly. But coming in third after NCIS and The Voice must be okay with ABC/Disney.

Maybe things will jell a bit more. We have a year now for them to get their ducks in a row.

Yep, the sarcastic humor is not there and it shows. The fun humor is far and few between,
probably because he failed to pick actors that would be good at it. I think the nerds were
supposed to add that but they have failed horribly. Firefly had natural comedians like Alan
and Nathan and a surprise one with Adam that probably even surprised Joss. I really
had high hopes for this but Joss's casting skills really failed him here. I thought he was
a genius with his cast in Firefly, now I'm thinking he just got lucky.

Oh dear, I thought you had been able to find her something that would have
worked for all.  That's a difficult situation.

I concur; it's TOO generic and I don't care about it at all. I found more depth in the Finn/Cory tribute on "Glee" just now. (Lea Michele's (Rachel) rendition of "To Make You Feel My Love" is beyond touching. Naya Rivera (Santana) sang "If I Die Young;" she has such a gorgeous voice.

SHIELD is just too cringing and there is not enough Joss in it. Joss is careful enough to make you care; I wonder how much he's really involved. I remember rolling my eyes when they showed previews for Sleepy Hollow, but I find it entertaining and thrilling.

Oh well, maybe it will get better. I'll be keeping company with the second place show The Voice.

The last 2 eps were written by Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen.

Everything should be approved by Joss.

The weakest characters for me are Skye and Simmons. I want to recast him with David Blue. I just don't love him, although I do understand him. Fitz I neither like nor dislike, she's pretty.
Skye seems like a strong River and a weak Faith character. I like Agent Ward. Not sure why but I do. I love May and Coulson.

The show needs to build up and get going. I believe it will.

I don't understand why folks were surprised by the huge drop. We had RECORD numbers for the premiere. People stopped and watched but that was a special occasion. I really liked the premiere and I am enjoying the ride. The team of AOS is figuring things out, both on and off screen.

I really hated the first 5 eps of Dollhouse. Then it got much better. I'm sure things will improve, especially when Ziva leaves I am guessing.

I had dropped Glee a while back but picked it back up when Jessi was on that time. I kind of kept up with it since then and sort of watch it, fast-forwarding through songs and/or story and catch the highlights. But the tribute episode to Cory Monteith was pretty emotionally devastating. Lea Michelle said she never considered not coming back to the show, you can't quit life and these people are her family.

I remember rolling my eyes when they showed previews for Sleepy Hollow, but I find it entertaining and thrilling.

I'm surprised how much it has grown on me. It's over the top goofy one minute and fairly serious the next. I hope we haven't seen the last of Pez-dispenser Sulu cop.

I think SHIELD is dropping the ball by centering the stories around Skye, but Joss loves his female characters. It's like he couldn't get Eliza Dushku so he settled for Chloe Bennett and her boobs. Episode 2 featured Colson's ex in her wifebeater, leaning over a lot.

I saw an interesting comparison to the ratings of SHIELD and that superhero family show with Michael Chiclets and Rita from Dexter. They are almost exactly the same for the first three weeks. I think ABC/Marvel/Disney will continue to stick with SHIELD unless the ratings tank pretty badly. It's like a one-hour (well, 42 minute after the other commercials) commercial for the movies and comics. They have a year, so who knows.

Someone also said that SHIELD is like Raylan Givens and Hydra is Boyd Crowder. SHIELD is ostensibly the good guy but will skirt the law and break the rules when it suits them. Joss has always been about shades of grey instead of black and white and good guys and bad guys, especially when it comes to the government and government organizations. Unless a socialist is running things.
