Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse... but you take a boat in the air that you don't love... she'll shake you off just as sure as the turn of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she ought to fall down... tells you she's hurting before she keels. Makes her a home.  -Mal

They did a lot of exposition in the pilot and I would think that future eps will have more action once they get that out of the way.
And I'm thinking you weren't burdened with an overabundance of schooling.

The fan base is very passionate but there aren't that many of us when it comes right down to it.

I disagree.

I agree with Rosie. I am of the firm belief that what Joss started w/ Buffy & Angel, he multiplied with Firefly (fan-wise). I honestly believe that is has been Browncoats that have been the main propulsion for Joss' work since FF. We have done the impossible. Even things that Joss got into and made better have had a ripple effect. I don't think it's a co-incidence that movies like 'Cabin' and even 'Red Dawn' finally got released after stuff Joss had success with kicked the suits into gear. I love cause and effect, and even tho I know I'm not privy to all the workings, I do see a trend. I also see all the Jayne hats and brown tees and brown coats in the sea of people at Comic Con and other events.

We are MANY.

My biggest complaint ?

They're on a plane .
Lola needs to be tied down .
21st century version of a "loose cannon"

:neener:

It's nice here with a view of the trees
Eating with a spoon?
They don't give you knives?
'Spect you watch those trees
Blowing in the breeze
We want to see you lead a normal life

As a former Marine I've tied down my share a pallets, Humvees and trucks in the cargo bay of military aircraft and that scene bothered me. It's not just that everything needs to be tied down, but you need a load plan as well (I was trained how to do load plans for C130s, C141s and C5s). Everything is weighed and the center of balance is calculated and then you can plan out where it is going to go in relation to everything else on the plane. If it's not right, then the plane may not be able to take off or land properly and then people die.
And I'm thinking you weren't burdened with an overabundance of schooling.

Clearly it was a forcefield that held them down, or some other technomagic.

Is it too much to ask that they mix our reality with the science and the magic and the other-worldly stuff? Come on Joss and Co.!

I get that though, it bugs me when stuff I know gets muddled up and overlooked or disregarded. I want to know the boundaries of the universe I'm watching & getting involved in. Sometimes the 'rules' just don't apply, but when it's 'our world', with some added bonuses (like Thor's arms), we need to have those points laid out. Still...I believe you guys are right, they should still be following the 'rules' of gravity, flying, weight and all that. UNLESS, they are inside some kind of 'space ship' type structure that has it's own gravity or whatever.
I also saw mention of how a 'hacker who lives in her van' should not have been perfectly made up with a nice pressed suit...so, it seems there might be more stuff to nitpick! lol.

Rosie

Can't we move this to the child boards?

Pretty Please.  :praise:

Tom watched tonight, and as tired as he was, he still chuckled out loud at a few parts (for him, an audible chuckle is a knee slapper!). I got to see the first 8 minutes too...so that was cool. So, this is gonna be a regular thing for us.

Another nitpick? When the 'hooded hero' lands while holding the Centipede Dr, you see her do a bounce w/ her neck hyper-extended...both Tom and I groaned. C'mon people, if he landed so hard as to leave his footprints in the ground. that would have snapped her back and spine where he was holding her.

As for Lola? It did look like 'she' was being raised up on some sort of platform as they were preparing to take off...maybe it was some kind of cargo hold thingie to keep her safe and do all the technical things mentioned above. I guess just the fact that the crewman was walking toward her shows that she needed some sort of prep...I guess it's just done after Coulson walks away? Or maybe she has her own personal attendant? heh.

Another 'pick? This one goes back to Firefly's Serenity ep. Someone needs to explain to Joss just how much, or little hitting w/ heavy objects the human head can take! When Dobson repeatedly beaned Book with the bottle, I kept saying that any one of those blows could have killed him. Then, to see the factory foreman get clobbered with that tank? C'mon, that news lady wouldn't be saying 'ICU' or whatever...it would have been a report of a murder! Oh, and as for Coulson's secret...I figured, even before the show aired, that he was 'saved' by alien technology. Felt it even more so after watching. BUT then Gingi told me how 'obvious' it was. She sited some comic book stuff that seemed very likely.

What do you guys think? Why/how is he alive?

Okay, I finally watched this today. Not impressed. Typical Joss. Except for Coulson I
didn't connect with any of the other characters. The so called hunk of the show has a
cupie bow mouth that is a turn off and for crying out loud where does Joss get all of
his skinny little brunette women as his heroines. They all look cloned. He definitely
has a type and if I was his wife I think I would bop him over. Also if you are going
to put in nerdy little geeks with foreign accents as comedy relief it would help if their
accents weren't so strong that you couldn't understand them. The girl not too bad but
the boy is terrible.

The stories better be stronger than what I saw or this is going to be another Heros
of one season and done.

Sounds like Tahiti may have been his version of heaven. I have no idea how they brought
him back to life.
