It's a stupid rule. These guys help generate millions for their University and the NCAA. Let them make a little cash. Making money on autographs has absolutely no effect on the game of college football. The NCAA needs to revamp their rule book.

That being said, it is against the rules right now and Johnny may have to pay the piper.
And I'm thinking you weren't burdened with an overabundance of schooling.

The reason it is a rule is so that someone doesn't pay a student athlete $50,000 or $100,000 for their autograph to entice them to play for the team.

At the very least, players should get a stipend.
