Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse... but you take a boat in the air that you don't love... she'll shake you off just as sure as the turn of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she ought to fall down... tells you she's hurting before she keels. Makes her a home.  -Mal

the Aussie guy was by far my favorite on the premiere episode... but after that, he didn't seem the same... so from then on, i was rooting for David Cook and Kristy Lee Cook...

Phyll33

Was he the one that was just diagnosed with cancer? I thought Kristy was really good from listening to her
videos. I think she was much better than the girls that were left to go farther. I don't know why the judges
especially Simon always gave her a hard time and I can't imagine who was voting that would have left White
and canned her. The voting seems to have problems because Jason should have gone eons ago but the right
person did end up winning even though the last six or so except for the 2 Davids were not the best they had.

I never watched the show just got interested when people were talking about the contestants. I clicked on
You Tube to listen to some of them and did a Whoa! when I heard Cook.

You are a total You Tube addict! :P

Did you search for his take on "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face"? GREAT control of lower register and the ending was just as fantastic as "The Music of the Night."

I have all his performances, some of the studio versions, and one track from Analog Heart.

/whoring AI Mp3's since season 4

Now I took a YouTube pit stop watching Leona Lewis ~ I didn't know she was the winner of a talent show with "That was brilliant" Cowell called The X Factor in the UK. I knew Simon helped her with her album, I just didn't know she was off one of those shows. That "Bleeding Love" song of hers is one of the best songs of the year.

Luke Mennard, eliminated Top 20, I think. I liked him but he blew it choosing Wham's "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go." He kinda reminded me of Orlando Bloom.

I really enjoyed Kristy Lee's voice. She sang the heck out of "God Bless the USA" and her version of "Faithfully" was GREAT.

I was an early fan of Brooke's. I loved her acoustic version of "Love is a Battlefield" and her version of "Let It Be."

As much as I didn't like Carly, she did NOT deserve to go home Andrew Lloyd Webber night. Her version of "Jesus Christ Superstar" was my only favorite of hers. Jason's rendition of "Memory" was soooooooo painful. :lala: He should have gone that night. We should have had David A, David C, and Syesha or Carly in the Top 3 (or 4). But you can't underestimate those speed dialers. This was the season that I voted the LEAST, and voted maybe 50-100 times total for season 6. I think I voted maybe 40 times total this year. I'm bored with voting.

Shows like Idol I just can't sit through. They make me very uncomfortable watching them. Listening to the
songs on You Tube was as close as I could get.

I loved "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face". It just wasn't long enough. I wish he had been able to sing more of
it. Simon nailed that one for his voice which I'm wondering if he thought he really could sing it or was trying to
throw him a zinger. Cook was definitely Paula's and Simon's first choice but I think they both thought the teeny
boppers would flood the lines and pull Archie through. Cook definitely makes a good idol. He's cute and wonderful
versatile singer with a broad based appeal and he does a really good interview. He's not cowed by celebrities and
comes across very poised and smart. Good choice and an all around nice guy.  :)

I'll have to go back and listen to some of Carly's songs. I'm wondering if the reason Carly and Micheal Johns
were kicked off early was because they weren't Americans. It is American Idol after all and the callers may
have been trying to broadcast that. Brooke goofed up too much and was very unsure of herself. Kristy had
the right personality and I thought voice to go farther she just seemed to run afoul of Simon and the callers
didn't seem to want another country singer to win.

The right guy won so it all worked out in the end.  :)

And I think they let record a different song for the studio tracks they had on iTunes.

They were all on Larry King Live last week, and Cook's composure was calm, cool, and collected. He really does a good interview!

Technically they're both citizens, but it does seem weird and then maybe not so much. Could be!
