Battlestar Galactica return date: It's here! By Tim Surette10/15/08

The second half of the final season of television's best science-fiction show begins pretty soon!
Nerds, dorks, dweebs--it's almost time to put on your Viper pilot cosplay outfit and get ready to watch one of the best shows on television end its run. It is with both a heavy heart and unbridled anticipation that Battlestar Galactica fans await the return of the show; on one hand, we're dying to know what happens, and on the other, it means the beginning of the end of one heck of a series.

Battlestar Galactica has been off the air since June, with Sci-Fi Channel's wacky scheduling cutting the show's final (*sniff*) season in half. But it is coming back, and after what felt like frakkin' years of waiting, we finally have a return date.

The second half of season four of Battlestar Galactica will get going on January 16 at 10 p.m., according to super-snoop Michael Ausiello of EW.com. And for those looking for an end date, Ausiello also says the series finale will take place on March 20.

The final stretch run of Battlestar Galactica, which, I will say again, is currently television's best science-fiction (and possibly drama) program, is slated for 10 episodes. However, producers have said that those 10 episodes will run at least 11 hours long, possibly more. AND--there is at least one post-series Battlestar Galactica TV movie in the works as well.

Ten more episodes, guys...are you ready!?

Honestly, BSG has been outasightoutamind for me.I may watch it, but will probably wait for the DVD's so I can watch the whole season together.
And I'm thinking you weren't burdened with an overabundance of schooling.

I honestly don't remember if I watched many of the last season's episodes.  If I did, I only have flashes of Gaida (sp?) getting shot in the leg and losing it.
As I've often said here: They jumped the shark on New Caprica.  Then they did it again with Starbuck and other stuff.

I probably did watch; just not memorable.  Then again, I have CRS:  Can't Remember Sh*t.

Inside info or are you just guessing?  Good guess, if that's what it is.  It'd fit right in with all the other crap that's ticked me off in regards to BSG.

Aaron Douglas was on a podcast and spilled the beans. He could be BSing, but that was what was said.

They really lost me by frakking up the delay between seasons. I'll watch, only because it is damn near over.

Why, Tink, you are starting to sound like me...(griping about their stupid "mid-season" breaks, idiots)!  No telling how many viewers they lost because of this nonsense.  If they aren't careful the show will be cancelled....oh, wait....

For some reason, the delay in LOST really does not bother me as much. But I've lost interest in BSG. I told a friend that if they decided not to even show the rest of the series I'd not lose sleep. They could have wrapped up the entire series in the past ten episodes. Out of the last ten, there were maybe three, four episodes that were memorable. Baltar 'witnessing' to the Centurion was priceless.
