...for purely selfish reasons. Since Seattle won tonight, the Saints are coming to Seattle on Saturday and I have a slight chance of being able to shoot the game from the sidelines. I have a cousin who works for sports radio in New Orleans (who got me a press pass to LSU Vs. UW last year) and he may, emphasis on may, be able to get me on the sidelines for the Saints/Seahawks game. Mojo Mojo!
Just got word that my info is being submitted to the NFL by my cousin. I should find out tomorrow if I am in or not!!!!!
In bed trying to sleep but the prospect of being on the sidelines of an nfl playoff game has me sleepless in seattle!
The dream job of any photographer! Here's hoping it works out for you!
Hope you get the gig !
( watched a Raptors commercial yesterday - the team is rubbish but I wouldn't mind dating the cheerleading squad )

The NFL has the request and, according to my cousin, "It shouldn't be a problem. The NFL will contact you with all the pertinent information."

I won't be happy until I hear from the NFL.

My boss had a sideline press pass for the Bama-Penn State game earlier this year. He had scored the pass something like five months before the game and he then called the studio to make sure he had no weddings booked for that day. He didn't, and he was ecstatic. (We work in the lab, the studio is across the hall.)
Flash-forward to two weeks before the game and the studio calls to verify the time of his wedding the day of the Bama-Penn State game. He blows a gasket, as he had called months ago to verify that he didn't have anything booked. They explain to him that although he didn't have anything booked five months earlier, he never bothered to block out the day and they had subsequently booked him. He blows a gasket. They explain to him that it is the photographer's responsibility to block the day off when they need the day off. He was screaming at this point. He was screaming that he asked if he was booked for the Bama-Penn State game and they said no and they should have known that he wanted the day off even though he didn't say block me out, I'm taking the day off. They said that it is the photographer's responsibility to block the day off when they need the day off. He threatened to quit. They said that he had a responsibility to shoot the wedding he was scheduled for, both a legal and moral responsibility.
He is the third generation of photographers in this business. He knows the policy, he's known it for the 15 years he's been working here. And I think that is what pissed him off so much. He knew that technically he was wrong. And that made it all the worse. When it came down to it, he screwed up. They have since told him that he will not be booked for any weekend work without his consent. We'll see how long that will last.
Anyway, I'd love to share this news of you shooting the demise of the Shehawks at the hands of the Saints, but it is still something of a sore subject. I'll tell Ann though, she'll be happy for you, as am I.

( hopefully the Saints take this with the 100% serious that is needed . There's no sneaking up this year . Just ask Cleveland )
I don't see it as bad as the beatdown Bama put on Michigan State, but the 'Hawks are going down like Paris Hilton.
:haha:
I think it will be a much closer game than the 34-19 loss Seattle suffered down there this year. Matt Hasselbeck was 32/44 for 366 against their D (one of his best performances of the year). It's also going to be a rainy/windy/cold day up here in Seattle. I think the hawks will be in the game.
It's official! I'm in! Look for me on the sidelines! maybe I'll be the obligatory photographer who get taken out by a sideline tackle!
Yay!!!!!!!

It'll be about 42 and rainy here. There is a slight chance that we get lucky and have no rain during the game, but I don't care. I'm just happy I'll be there!

Okay, the timezone thingy threw me off. I saw some high-school all-star game scheduled. It'll be on 4:30 our time, 5:30 Eastern.

Just check TV Guide.com for your area and they say it is on.
Yeah, it being a playoff game I was surprised to see Pearl say it was blacked out. Probably didn't account for the time differences. Hopefully that is all it is.
I just think she can't stand me and would be repulsed to see me on TV. ;) :neener:
UPS just delivered my 300mm 2.8 lens from Lens Rentals.com. Damn! This lens is BIG and heavy. Glad I have a mono-pod.
Glad I have a mono-pod.
They're soooo nifty .
It turns out *I* am the blacked out one and looked at Sunday's listings. (still thinking Sunday schedule)

Rosie sent me a text. I turned on the game (I hate football btw)...I realized there was no way I was gonna be able to spot a black beanie w/ a blue sun logo...so I just left it on as I folded socks (I have a little oldie set in here, small screen)....I hear the excitement in the announcer's voice and the crowd, looked up and saw what looked like some 'winning touchdown' in some inspirational movie! That was awesome!! lol.
If anyone recorded the game and caught sight of our own celeb photog, post vid/pix, k?

That was awesome. Still didn't see the game but I love underdogs, I love the fact you were on the field. You gotta be on cloud nine. I want details and when you get to writing it alll down. You should write it up for you as well as for us. That was an extraordinary experience.
As I was watching the game, I didn't know how in the heck I was going to even know I was seeing Spooky or not! The cameras pan so quickly and then so slowly (usually on the coaches and players). I was looking for someone who didn't have an obscenely large camera or red coat (there were a lot of people with red sports jackets). I felt tired so I got all snug under covers and then the 64-yard touchdown run happened and I couldn't go to sleep after that!
It's unfortunate that the Saints got beat/ran out of steam, but the Seahawks gave it their all.
OMG! Rex Ryan says he's glad he got to beat Peyton Manning. The comment he made before the game, concerning the rematch this year (from losing to the Colts last year) was "it's personal." I was like, Get a LIFE. I hope the Jets lose BIG TIME. (NFL.com says they'll be playing the Patriots.) I don't think the Ravens will go to the Super Bowl; don't know if they'll win tomorrow. They'll have to duke it out with the Steelers if they do, which is always a fun game. I predict Atlanta and New England for the Super Bowl, but ANYTHING can happen as we saw today!!!
I am at my parents right now. They DVR'd the game for me. We just got done watching it and I am no screen for brief snip-its, but I would be the only one to know it was me. I was not recognizable, I just know it was me because I know where I was at that point in the game.
I was amazing to be there. So much fun and I think I got some good shots, but I won't be going through those until tomorrow. The noise was unbelievable. I can't compare it to being on the field at any other NFL stadium, but I can compare it to be at The University of Washington stadium. UW is considered on of the loudest college stadium and I can say Qwest Field is MUCH louder. everything vibrated when the crowd got going. I always hear from TV announcers that it is the loudest stadium they've been too and I can confirm that you can't hear the person next to you even when they are yelling. Crazy loud!
I should have some photos posted latter tomorrow.
Congrats to the Seahawks on a great game. And congrats on living the dream of being there on the sidelines when it all happened.
I hope you only bought small beer:

Spooky,
I am looking through pictures online. I am looking for the beannie and a big but smaller lens. Are you wearing a red jacket? Here's a link to some photos. There's a blur with no beannie but a smaller lens. It's photo 63.
http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/photos?gameId=310108026&photoId=1050609#photo_1050701 (http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/photos?gameId=310108026&photoId=1050609#photo_1050701)
Did you have someone take your picture on the field by any chance?
I didn't end up wearing the beanie. I couldn't find it and even if I would have found it it would have been covered by the hat from the coat I was wearing.
All the photographers wear wearing red vests that were issued by the league.

I just finished watching the game and I saw you! you were behind the Seahawk end zone, sitting on the field or kneeling.
