I see a 10% drop in the polls if he does.

He better not. Hell hath no fury like scorned Lost fans.  :veryangry:

SOTU addresses have varied in date ~ in the past 9 years, they've usually been on Tuesdays, but have also been on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (twice). They've all been in January except for 2005 which was on February 2nd.

Obama's got the time. It's just hype. I'd gladly eat my words, but I wouldn't want to hear the backlash at the All Barack Channel.

Does ABC even have to air the SotU speech ?

It's not like he won't be on every other farking channel , right ?

I think it's always optional but speeches like SotU are always (AFAIK) televised by the major channels and news channels.

I've noticed recently that if he has an early evening speech he always manages to preempt
Glenn Beck. I'm sure that is just a coincidence.  ;)
