Title: NBC orders more Chuck
Post by: TinkTanker on October 29, 2009, 06:16:21 AM
Sources confirm that NBC is close to ordering six additional episodes of Chuck. That's on top of the 13 eps the network previously ordered, bringing the show's season 3 total to 19 (just three shy of what's considered a full season).

NBC is rumored to be axing Trauma soon, possibly to make room for Chuck returning early.

I've read that they have enough eps in the can to be able to start the season now if they wanted. I hope we don't have to wait until March.

I'm lovin' this. Tamara (meimeicat, tlc, others) said that Chuck was lucky the writer's strike came along because that was the only thing that saved it for a second season. That and Sarah Conor would be around for a long time. That and Bionic Woman. Uh-huh.

Ahhhh....good times....if, by some miracle we ever got more Firefly, I'd have to say I'd be tracking her down just to rub her nose in it. I know, I know, super immature, but, that's just me.

NBC provided some clarity to its moribund Monday night situation, announcing that "Chuck" will return to the schedule on Sunday, Jan. 10, with back-to-back episodes before falling into its permanent timeslot a night later, running at 8 p.m. and leading into "Heroes."

Great picture. Zack just keeps getting better looking as he ages doesn't he?  Those shoes
are killers and I imagine came off right after that photo shoot. Probably only used to overcome
the height difference so the picture would look better. :)

It's awesome, though. Adam on Twitter has mobilized the troops, so to speak. Granted, they are Chuck fans, so they are disorganized, but excitable.  :headbang:

I just can't wait until all the super liberal teens wake up tomorrow with Adam stuff in their texts. SO RELIEVED I am not going to be the only one now presenting an alternative theory re: health care. Hee hee!

When Rosie told me, it made me even sadder that I wouldn't be able to tease him tomorrow about what he said about Nathan last July at Comic Con...

*in case you hadn't heard the story, Adam was checking for me to see if Nathan was going to be at the Dr. Horrible screening, when he got his phone out, I said, 'you gonna tweet him'? Adam scoffed and said something to the effect that he did thing the old fashioned way, he'd text! Which he did...he then said, 'whenever I hear 'tweet' I think 'tweak'...Nathan is 'tweaking on his crackberry'!' Of course we busted up. (oh, and in short order, he looked at his phone and said, 'naw, he's not gonna be there'....I love that they keep in touch and have each other on 'speed dial'.*

I really wish we could be going down to LAX tomorrow....*sigh*...

'Chuck' readies for return -- too bad about the timeslot
by Margaret Lyons

Traditionally, advent calendars count down to Christmas, but I'm considering adding a few more days onto mine it counts down to Chuck. Because I am so, so excited.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G374vAIuSlY&feature=player_embedded# (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G374vAIuSlY&feature=player_embedded#)

Holy Chucking hell, does that look awesome. Except for one thing: Chuck will be on at 8 p.m. on Mondays, against The Bachelor, How I Met Your Mother, House, One Tree Hill, and The Secret Life of the American Teenager. (I can't believe I'm factoring in that teen pregnancy schmaltzfest, but I am — it gets 4 million viewers.) Pssst. NBC. This timeslot is not working for Chuck! It was bad news bears last year, and NBC has even less clout now; can Chuck survive another ratings struggle?

In my imaginary fairy princess world of candy and symbiosis, Chuck could nudge out The Jay Leno Show one glorious night a week and take a 10 p.m. slot, but I know that's not going to happen. Marginally more realistically (though still under the authority of whimsical royalty), what about Sunday nights? Once football ends in February, I'd put Chuck on instead of two hours of The Apprentice.

Are you as stoked for season three as I am, PopWatchers? And what do you think would be Chuck's magic timeslot?

Margaret's right ~ Chuck is going to have a tough time with ratings. FOX will rule Mondays (although CBS will be close too) with House and American Idol (back in Jan). (Doesn't it boggle the mind? FOX. Who knew?!)

The video sneak peek is awesome though.

Now there's talk of Heroes ending this season. http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b156121_this_just_in_heroes_expected_end_ugly.html?utm_source=eonline&utm_medium=rssfeeds&utm_campaign=imdb_tv-movies (http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b156121_this_just_in_heroes_expected_end_ugly.html?utm_source=eonline&utm_medium=rssfeeds&utm_campaign=imdb_tv-movies)

I'll probably pay more attention to House because NBC is on On Demand. I'll be flipping channels though. 'Course if I'dve gotten a DVR we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Now I'm toying with the idea of getting another box to put in here...I just remembered I'm gonna be purty much in bed for two months come week after next. I need a better tv in that little bedroom too. Now I wish I'd gone ahead and gotten one of the 'new fangled' ones they had on Black Friday. They were small, but they'd be better than the $79 ones we got the kids for their rooms when we moved to the old house!

My short answer? Hell yes. In fact, Fox is so spooked by Chuck that they moved THEIR premiere of House up by 2 weeks to compete with it! Chuck has played against House before & kept on the air. And a season 4 looks imminent, assuming that the first two weeks get a lot of attention. My friend has seen the first 5 episodes & he says it's by far & away the best season of Chuck ever.

We talk about this in the next Chuck You Tuesdays pod cast. I'll post the link when it's up. It's my first pod cast ever! It's Mal who does most of the talking but we all take turns asking questions about season 3 & I of course make a couple of snide comments.  ;)

OH and those of you in SoCal might want to participate in ChuckFest, or at least the premiere party at the House of Blues on the 10th. Damn I wish I could go!

When I got the Chuckfest info, it was like adding insult to injury (or surgery)...I remember that first year at Comic Con, when Zach and Josh were making silly jokes about how great the turn out was at the panel and how Comic Con was so great, and now nothing could be better, except, maybe 'ChuckCon'...lol...I think they're there! lol

House, M.D.'s Facebook and Twitter pages are saying that the first new episode of 2010 for House won't air until January 25th. I have no idea WHAT they are airing instead, as Idol will not preempt House this year, being on Tuesdays and Wednesdays ~ and I can't find any schedules that far in advance.

I hope that Chuck performs well, but FOX and CBS consistently perform well on Mondays. NBC sure could use some ratings fe-vah, as it looks like everything's gone to gao se over there. The last time I watched NBC was for some of the first eps of Heroes this season but that fettered out quickly... I for one will definitely be switching channels on Mondays next year. I might be watching House live and VOD'ing Chuck. If we were a Nielsen house, it might be different.

Congrats on the podcast! Please do remind us and post a linky.

ETA: New promo tonight says New House: Monday, Jan. 11, 8/7c. Facebook the Twitter up!
