Crap!! Castle is on at the same thyme as CSI:Miami and Saving Grace. Grrrrr.....arghhh! I'm gonna have to record one on the Living Room TV I guess. Ah, well, still looking forward to it.
OT: On the Dollhouse OB, they are having a debate on whether Nathan was on an ep of Dollhouse. He wasn't, of course, but it was funny reading the discussion.

If DH gets more than 13 eps I won't be surprised to see Nate .
Not feeling overly "damp" about it though .
;)
I will watch Castle first run...I'll catch Saving Grace on On Demand. That's just how I did it last time...Whatever shows replay easily on TV can wait...lol.

Don't know if they are on the Dollhouse board. However, I'm sure they are all light-headed and such over Castle!!

I heart Nathan.
I can't wait for Castle. I'm really hoping, from what I'm seeing on the snippets here and there that it's gonna be one of my new faves. I absolutely LOVE the scene where he starts trying to 'be the hero' and actually does get the gun from the bad guy...his "tell me you saw that?". was so perfect. It was so real in a 'what the average person thinks cops do and how you can do it too', kind of way.

Yep, me too! Can't wait! Oh, and I figured out how to resolve my scheduling problem! TNT re-airs Saving Grace at 12! Duh!
OT: Did you see my post where you can watch Life eps from season 2 on NBC? Or, was it OnDemand charging $1 to watch them? Couldn't remember... Nevermind, found it!

Yep, saw that. The only problem is, Gingi's old laptop that I'm using when I crawl into my 'nest', won't show me some vids (it's old, and even Jessi isn't sure about 'upgrading' to whatever it needs). I've been online for about an hour this morning, and I'm already in pain, so I do need to get off this desktop. *pout*
But thanks for the info. I absolutely LOVE "Life"....other shows I'm trying to find are "Lie to Me" and "The Mentalist"..I was also wondering if Mad Men was coming back...I thought when they mentioned the 'break up' and how Ted professed his love for his roomies future stepmother (Christina), that maybe Mad Men wasn't coming back, and they were going to bring her onto Life more.
Uh Oh, I just watched the first 13 minutes of Castle on You tube and I didn't get a good vibe. The secondary
characters are real duds like the cops and mom and Nathan looks , how do I put this, like he has led a harder
then normal life recently. For someone as young as he is he is aging pretty rapidly. Looks a little puffy and
rough and not in a good way. Still has charm but I'm not sure he will be able to carry the whole show, a little
bit of Nathan seems to go a long way. A shame they didn't pair him up with a better cast. I hope for the best
but ABC has unloaded a lot better shows than this looks like it will be. If they got rid of "Men in Trees" and
"Women's Murder Club" then this thing doesn't look like it has a chance.

Interview: Nathan Fillion
by Steve Heisler March 9, 2009
Nathan Fillion's career seems to come in two shades. On one side are the mainstream dramas which launched his career: One Life To Live, Desperate Housewives, and the short-lived Drive. On the other, he fronts fringe projects (most helmed by Joss Whedon) with small but powerfully loyal followings—Firefly, Serenity, and Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. But regardless of the role, the Canadian-born actor always brings a commanding presence and the precision comic timing of the greatest vaudevillian performers; it's doubtful the iconic Dr. Horrible line "The hammer is my penis" would have soared from less-capable hands. Lately, he's starring in ABC's Castle, playing an egomaniacal crime-fiction writer who tags along on homicide cases for creative inspiration. The show affords Fillion the opportunity for a few zingers, but more importantly, it's an opportunity for him to play straight to his wheelhouse—for a mainstream audience, no less. The A.V. Club recently called Fillion during his flurry of a shooting schedule to talk about his turn as a lead, his exodus from soap operas, and Matt LeBlanc.
The A.V. Club: Castle is being called "The Nathan Fillion Project" all over the Internet. Were you always involved?
Nathan Fillion: What happened was, there was a list of pilots ABC was interested in producing, and I was weeding my way through. Nothing quite got me fired up. You want to do a project that's potentially for seven years, you want it to be something that really lights you on fire. So I came to Castle, and I remember the night I read it, I was sitting with my girlfriend, waiting to meet some friends. We had some time on our hands, so I said, "Oh, I've got to read this pilot," which was on my iPhone. I was about 15 pages into it, and I turned to her and said, "I'm going to start at the beginning, I'm going to read this pilot out loud to you, and you tell me if you don't think it's awesome." And we had a great time. The two of us would take different parts, we'd do the scenes together and laugh.
AVC: Wow, Hollywood life is exciting.
NF: The producers and the creators were coming to meet me; I was working at the time, so I didn't have time to go to their offices. So we had a little meeting in my trailer. I simply—and this was the first time I've ever done this—said, "Listen, I don't know what I need to tell you, but I am this guy. I can do this part forward and backward. I know exactly what to do. I will not fail you. Stop looking. Just hire me, let's move on." I mean, I'm not sure how many people they saw for the role. I'll ask them. But no, it certainly wasn't a pilot that was written for me, specifically for me, by no means.
(continues on http://www.avclub.com/articles/nathan-fillion,24795/ (http://www.avclub.com/articles/nathan-fillion,24795/))
His quote — "Listen, I don't know what I need to tell you, but I am this guy. I can do this part forward and backward." — reminds me of Nathan talking about Malcolm Reynolds on the FF DVD Extra. "I am nothing like this guy, he's bitter..." :'(
I mean, wouldn't we all call him Cap'n if we met him in person? (I know some of you have!)

Oh, I loved that one too. There are so many out there that I loved that have gone poof. I always thought
I just had odd ball tastes and if I liked something it was bound to vanish quickly. I gave up on a lot of TV
because of that.
That show was awesome. Sela Ward and Billy Campbell had so much chemistry ~ well, Once & Again just had an excellent cast (just like FF). I was so bummed when it got cancelled. I have that last episode on tape somewhere, the episode part and then the black and white film of them all talking as themselves. I always enjoyed those black and white vignettes.
I like it when shows do special things like that ~ when NCIS begins or goes to commercial, there's a snap of the scene taken like a photograph, in black and white. Judging Amy used to use black and white photos, too, in between scenes kinda like a segue, but they stopped that after the first few seasons. I always liked the "flash editing" in Angel, and zooms are always fun. ;)
Haven't gotten the DVD's for Once and Again yet. There's only 2 seasons available anyway AND those have been discontinued. :-/ Season 3 has yet to be released, and it's been over 3 years since season 2 was. Such a travesty. Hopefully, someday it will emerge.
Okay, I finally watched Castle last night and my first thought was Mal is back and then I realized Nathan
was never playing Mal. Mal was Nathan and so is Castle. This is Nathan playing himself under different names.
Joss may have created a character named Mal but he used Nathan's personality to really make him who he
was and the same thing is happening here. Other actors have done it so I guess it isn't all bad. They have
likened him to James Garner and he did the same thing to his most famous roles.
That's why I keep saying that it feels like this role was written JUST for him.
They've taken Nathan's personality (I've seen a couple 'versions' of it), and put it together with a dash of 'rogue' and 'ego' and a few other things. I saw complexity in this character....from the flippant to the deep thoughts that had his daughter asking if he was okay (she could see right through his lightheartedness).
I LOVE this show. This and Leverage will be my new faves. I love "The Mentalist", "Life", "Bones", "House"....and most all of those shows have bits of these type characters, real enough, layered enough, with just the right touch of humor. Love it.
He definitely brings a lot of quirkiness to his roles, but reels the quirky in when it's required. Firefly Mal is different from Serenity Mal, but Mal always had a humorous side to him. I hope this show gets picked up. Our Cappy deserves exposure like our Merc.
I liked the first show and definitely noticed the similarities in the parts. Yes, he was darker in Serenity
but that is part of Nathan too I've noticed. He has a very dark sarcastic humor sometimes which doesn't
come across well in written interviews. He needs to watch that. Joss was able to pull much more out of
him then whoever directing this will be able to and I have a feeling Nathan may be hard to direct and rein
in so I hope he doesn't become his own worst enemy in this part and go to over the top.
