Same here... can't say that Briggs doesn't pull us through those knotholes. Can't wait to see what she creates next.

Love hearing coyotes sing, almost as much as train whistles late in the evening... both bring back memories of my childhood.

They live on the golf course behind my house. They come up in my yard and chase rabbits at about three am.
Oh... and damn you for making this thread! I downloaded a sample chapter, of the first book, for my Kindle and then had to buy the book!

We used to have the same problem with the coyotes hunting in the creek bed in the wee hours of the morning. Of course, my dog would go crazy and the combination was not as restful as I would remember from childhood... I think I loved hearing them from waaaaaay away *G

Ours were hunting squirrels, cats... I think. We never were greeted by the bits, thank goodness.
Finished "Moon Called". It was pretty good. I was hoping for more of an action filled werewolf fight at the end though.

Darn... me, too.
Anyone read her Alpha and Omega series? What did you think (compared to Mercy)?

Just picked up the first book... I will let you know. I've read some of her other books and have been impressed by every single one.
I loved Alpha and Omega. In Cry Wolf, most of it takes place in Montana in the Marrok's pack. I find Charles to be amusing I guess because his visits to his brother, Samuel in the Mercy books. It also takes place (mostly) in the Cabinet Mountains.

It is very good. Anna is very different than Mercy, but she can kick ass when she needs to. I love the glimpses that we find out about Bran. (The Marrok).
BTW..I just finished Bone Crossed and it is reallly really good.
Just finished "Blood Bound". Very good, she can write "the scary" very well! The scene where Littleton is outside Mercy's trailer is just creepy! It actually gave me goosebumps.
Yup. There are a couple scenes in all of the books that give me the creeps. There is one in Cry Wolf...
Patricia Briggs was in Seattle autographing books, one of my friends is sending me one! (I am such a fan girl) :)
This series would make a great TV show.
According to Patty's website, the rights have been sold. I don't know if it is for TV or a movie though. Mercy totally rocks. Occasionally they sell prints of the cover art on the forum, I am so mad I missed the last bunch. I need something for my writing space. (the art studio space is full of ..well...art) I am however, the proud owner of a Mercy's Garage T-shirt.

There is always one scene in each book....

I think the Mercy books have better cover. Jim Butcher is actually jealous of the Mercy books' cover art.

Urban Fantasy series created by Patricia Briggs. Mercy is a 1/2 native american walker. (shape shifting coyote). She also has to interact with the local pack of Weres, the coven of vampires and the fae reservation. These books are very good and get better with each book.
So, I'm done with "Bone Crossed". Hurry up Patricia! I want a new story! NOW! :)
The best part of this story was learning more about Mercy's abilities. I hope the next story expands on Mercy's understanding of her Coyote self. Maybe Patricia could introduce another Walker into the mix.
Yes. I think Briggs was toying with bringing another walker in. The closest she has come has been the dead one. Have you read the Alpha and Omega books by Briggs? (Charles and Anna)

I have the first book on my Kindle, but am taking a break from fiction and reading some biographies.
You are much more disciplined than I am. I check out a few biographies and I read a few pages..than ...meh, its too dry and go back to my pile of fiction and art books. *Eyes box of girl scout cookies on printer*.

I resisted the girl scout cookies and then came home and made nachos ??? Which helped me in my reading... just finished "Old Man's War" by John Scalzi. Super great!!
