It's happened to all of us — a show goes over the allotted time-limit and you're stuck never actually knowing who's the murderer on Pushing Daisies. Or worse, if Heidi and Spencer really did get married for reals? Then comes the swearing and the screaming and the breaking of objects because your recorder cut off at the crucial last few minutes, leaving you without answers or closure.
So be warned ,BSG fans — this weeks' Friday premiere will run OVER 3 and a half minutes. Don't be a victim — set your recording devices correctly.

And Angi, you won't be watching it live? Are you mental? :P
PS. Technology should make DVR's smart enough to tape an entire show, no matter how long it runs. I don't have one so maybe I don't understand how it works. I guess if you select a show by timeslot, then you're screwed.

Our cable company's DVR will (usually) record extra if the show is scheduled to run long.

With mine, it has to be on the guide as running long (ie, if the guide says 10 to 11:03, it'll record until 11:03)

I thought mine did too but I got took on a couple of Bone's shows running over and it cutting off at the hour
so all Fox's shows I set automatically for extra minutes. I thought DVRs were supposed to be taping the show
not just the one hour.
I've noticed several times when setting it up that a show might show 1HR, 1MIN on recording time. But I'll still set it up for a few extra minutes just to be safe.

I have the most problems with House and Bones. Maybe it's a FOX thing?? I can't always record that extra minute since I can only record 2 shows at a time!! I guess I need to get a life and stop watching so many dang shows!!

Yes, Fox is the worst about this. I have added extra minutes to the Terminator series when I was taping
Chuck at the same time. It worked fine since Chuck goes off before the extra minutes kick in. You have to
go to the modify the program you want to tape and add the minutes to that program you are taping.
