Now, now... Joss Almighty gives you what he wants, not what you want.

/Maybe if he gave the studios and the audiences what they wanted he'd be making movies, instead of doing STV singalongs and battling Fox for scraps...

They cut a lot of stuff out. The whole payroll robbery scene was butchered. They basically went from Mal walking down into the vault to River saying "Reavers", skipping River's mind reading and Zoe's hero bit. They also cut out the Fanty/Mingo introduction... after that I put in the DVD and watched it proper.

OH MY GOSH!! Good thing Rosie and I didn't try to run back to my motel room to watch. Sounds like her whole scene was gone! Stupid people. Why edit on a cable channel? Time? Stupid. The whole point of that scene needs those little bits. It introduces the characters for who they are, what they are, and shows us that River is 'special'. Dumb dumb dumb. ACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They even gave it a 2 1/2 hour time slot, so they could have shown pretty much the whole film with commercials.

they replayed it last night (Feb. 12). It made me miss them. They were just getting back to Haven. I only watched up to Mal's "I aim to misbehave" speech. Couldn't watch anymore after that.

Over here USA is on ch 58 and SciFi is on 59. I was watching Burn Notice and switched over to see what was on SciFi during a commercial and almost forgot to switch back. It was the first Mal/Operative, "Yes, I've read a poem", fight scene.

I just read something on a you tube clip I was watching that I had never heard before. It was a comment
about Firefly. They said that SCI FI was willing to pick it up back up but the actors had moved on. Anyone
ever heard anything like that before? If it was true I can't believe we wouldn't have heard something but I
really believe we don't know everything that has gone on with this show.

Bovine scat. The show was shopped around and Sci-Fi passed on it. Now there was a change in leadership at Sci-Fi a year or so after the show was canceled and by then everyone had moved on, but it wasn't like Sci-Fi wanted it and two weeks later they couldn't get it.

Some how I got the feeling this was pretty far down the road after the show had aired. Since everyone really just
moved on in the last couple of years.  Who knows. *shrug* It has always bothered me, that the popularity
of this show increased so much after the DVD released and it has always received praise hi and lo from critics,
that no one considered bringing it back. When I read that, even though I'm sure it was someone blowing smoke,
It kind of made sense to me.

The timing couldn't have been worse for this little show!!

Unfortunately, actors have to work, too, so waiting for something to happen was not a option. I don't even think any of them waited before or after Serenity was released, especially since it was pushed back 5 months. The cast was on hand to participate in the screenings, although I think some of the cast like Alan and Adam had work. (The Inside was in the works in and around that time)

When Joss shopped around, I don't think anyone was listening. By the time the DVDs hit the shelves, he was already lining up the film. It's just bad timing.

Never say never, but the show in its original conception is probably dead. Comics have kept it alive. Shows have been known to resurrect. Sadly, a lot of times they only get resuscitated to finish the story, which is why I think Joss wrapped up River's story and kept them forever flyin' in the sky. It was actually smart on his part, even though we really wish, and certainly he does too, that he could have continued the show on TV. But nothing ever really dies. Not if you keep it alive somehow.

[How Family Guy beat the odds is beyond me. (I like it most of the time) It went into syndication! That is huge.]

We just finished watching Babylon 5. Year to year, they didn't know if they were going to make it to the next season. It was probably one of the biggest pressures of writing the show. J. Michael Straczynski had a 5-year mission, too, for his show, and he was lucky enough to get support for 5 seasons (and numerous TV/straight to video movie deals).

Sometimes it's a crapshoot. I mean, who thought Star Search would come back in the form of American Idol?

Serenity on SyFy <blech> tonight at 8pm.

Had to put in the dvd because I had to see the whole bank robbery scene.

I pointed out Rosie and Jeremy, even though you see him more than her. :(

So that made me look for pics on my backup discs... and came up with a few.

I met some kids at Comic Con who actually asked to take a pic with me cuz I was in the movie (how funny). They asked 'where are you in the movie'...when I described the scene, they wanted to know if I knew the actually 'time stamp'. heh. I USED to. I forget it now. I remember Conrad had gotten some screen caps and noted exactly where everyone was in the film. *sigh*

I need to make copies of the pix I took on set. I made a promise to myself that I would NOT put them online till after the movie came out. Then we moved and I lost the negs/CD. I have a scanner now and need to put them up. Brian from Done the Impossible asked for copies, so I should get on that.
