I have finally caught up on seasons five and six. Showtime finally put all the seasons up on demand. The stupid thing is they show an ad at the beginning of every episode for the new seasons of Homeland and Dexter,
complete with the final scene of Deb seeing Dexter. Way to go, SHO.
S5 was pretty interesting
to see Dexter have a partner. The camp scene with Deb was intense. I really liked her character with all the lack of emotion of killing that thug and then full of emotion about the Barrel Girls. They write her smart and it's enjoyable, even into S6 with the "feelings" for Dexter. LaGuerta was pissing me off most of the time; unfortunately I had watched S6 before S5 so I knew she became a total political cop and alone. Harry was annoying too. I have NO idea how they are going to handle Dexter's big unintentional reveal to Deb. They are slated for two more seasons so we'll see if this is going to crush Deb. I wondered if Dexter could change during the S5 finale, but that last shot of him smiling in the camera says no.
Those ads they scroll across the bottom of the screen drive me nuts. They are getting
bigger and bigger and take half the screen and they leave them on way too long. Another
reason to buy the DVD I guess.

If Ann didn't insist on having cable so she could watch people trade houses and redecorate them, I'd drop cable and just wait an hour or two for stuff to fall off the internet. As is, we watch 99% of our stuff off of a media player and not cable. Usually you don't even get the popups that take up a third of the screen or station identifiers or anything annoying. Aside from ESPN, I'd not miss cable one whit.
S7 got off to a good start. Everything is out on the table (literally).
I need to watch S6.

Don't worry, they still have 11 hours to ruin everything.
We just started the "Trinity" season .
( no worries , I already know :'( )
John Lithgow has always been creepy .
Watched the first 3 eps of season 6 last night.
All caught up.

I agree. I think having been in love with Michael probably makes it easier for her to play the emotions she's been playing.

They supposedly are on good terms, but I couldn't help thinking it was emotional to slap him.
I'd swab her cheek for DNA evidence, if you know what I mean.

He was about to put his
DNA stick
in her
mouth
, most guys would.
Have to catch up with last ep.
Ausiello says: Oct. 21. Mark your calendar. Dex makes one of his most memorable kills in some time.

"How does that make you feel?"
"Glad."
That was a creepy episode.
I agree. The actor who played the bad guy did an outstanding job.
Yeah, but I was talking more about the "I do" stuff. I didn't understand it; Dexter might want to tell Deb he's the same brother he's always been, but she's got just a little bit more info now.
Well, Deb knowing Dexter's secret gives her a chance to use lotsa f-bombs. More so that usual. Which is a lot.

She seems to likes
Christ on a Cracker this season.
Quote"Fight or flight. That's a part of everyone's lizard brain. Speltzer may have a lizard brain like me. But his shortcoming is he doesn't have much of a human brain." –Dexter
I don't know that it was wise to tell Hannah what he knew, but Dexter is itching to have another playmate.
"There's only one problem: I'm not some fat little man."
I wish he would have stared down Isaak a little more after their little talk.
Oh my. Seems Dex has met his match.
I'm not sure what it is but I am finding a bit of a disconnect with this season. Even Battista is bored. LaGuerta was dead the minute she picked up that slide. I think they could have ended the show with this season, but now they'll really get to stretch it out by ending it next year. Maybe I'm just on edge because of the election.
Not just you. This is the first season I've been bored, very bored. Of the Sunday night shows I watch, it is dead last. I try to get it by the end of the week, but there is no hurry.
Wait till you see next week's preview ~ Deb is on the phone with Dexter acting like Meryl Streep from The Manchurian Candidate saying there has to be some effin' justice. And you can almost see the light in Dexter's eyes.

???
Well, Dexter sure didn't like him. >:D
Hanna Lives! Now that Maria is dead they better not make Deb Captain. Maybe bring Mathews back as Captain.
I hope Jen gets an Emmy nom for her work this season.
I liked the first half better than the last. I didn't much care for the way it ended.
I knew LaGuerta had to die because a) almost everyone who gets close to Dexter's secret dies (except Hannah and Deb) and b) Deb wasn't turning Dexter in, and she's already in too deep since she is technically an accomplice of sorts. Hannah's character played out very well though. (Yvonne plays mean well.) The whole relationship tease was such a waste, because it kinda worked in a weird, creepy way. But no one can be happy on these shows. The jail scene was good. The creator said the crying scene at the end with Jennifer was spontaneous and not scripted.
Sadly, it's highly unlikely ~ I think even Michael C. Hall's reign over nominations has fizzled out. He didn't get a Golden Globe nom and he usually does. (Homeland has now taken the torch for Showtime and it has paid off big time for them.)
She could be considered for Best Actress Drama, but she'd never have a prayer with the regular nominated actresses ~ she might pick up supporting, but that might be pushing it. A lot of people deserve to be nominated, not just the regulars like Glenn Close, Julianna Marguiles, Meryl Streep, etc., but that's the way it goes. It stinks.
