There's no way we'll know the author's intent, though one could presume if he'd not been oblivious he would have gone the route that wouldn't have gotten him fired.

"This had nothing to do with me being cute or punny," Anthony Federico told the Daily News.

Disingenuous headline writer is disingenuous .

That said - PC crap will never stop .....

The on-air ESPN dude used the phrase "Chink in the armor" in the middle of a conversation, I'd posit, without thinking and did not realize what he had said. The guy who wrote the headline on the website had to think on it and chose his words and still had time to pull it back and did not.

This is why one guy got sent home for a month without pay and another got sent home without a job.

Indeed .

Has the phrase "chink in the armour" now been rendered toxic ?

Because if so ..... :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall:

What's great is that it's so horrible that every single news article about it repeats the phrase.  Every.single.article.

That's because it's only offensive if one wishes to take offense .
( aside from said ill-advised punnery )
