Hey, that's cheating! I thought Tink was the only one who did that! (Especially with BSG, he always sees the eps before they air!)
I just realized, we have a whole new reason to actually look forward to Mondays! (I usually do just because that's when The Closer comes on!)
I just watched in on On Demand...oh boy!
I really missed this show and those characters.
Y'all are gonna love it.

I will probably end up watching stuff online or on On Demand, since I don't have a DVR.
The first ep will only be on On Demand for a few more days.
It was AWESOME!!!

Just got done watching it. Very good!
I don't know if cuz I was so 'hungry' for it, or what...but it seemed even better than last season!

I agree. The writing/directing/acting were all polished. Last season there were times when it felt like certain aspects of the show felt off kilter. S02E01 had me feeling like This *is* Chuck, this is what the show is about. I think anyone watching it for the first time could easily catch up to what is going on and fall in love with the show. I guess it's like a seconded pilot.

And the beauty of the internet is that you can find last season online, or just go ahead and buy season 1. Love it.

OMIGOSH, I know!!!
Or how 'bout when he was doing 'target practice', and almost shot RR, and then I LOVE the fact that he missed Chuck's photo by a mile. Adam has really brought that character to life. This show is supposed to be a fun romp, but Adam is showing us a very deep character, that HE'S actually developing with full blessing of the creators. I talked to one of the young men at the Paley Center last March, and he's been a fan of Adam for a long time. They are letting him interject bits and pieces into Casey, (like the RR photo, jelly beans, the ring he wears, etc). I love that. I love also the development of Chuck's character, he's 'grown'...I was afraid they were going to keep him just being a dork all the time...but we are just seeing a capable guy (remember HE was the one they were going to recruit), who has basically been thrown into the deep end and is just learning the hard way. On the job training as it were. I would love, now that the Intersect is ka-blewy, that they admit that they are going to have to 'keep' Chuck for awhile that they (or Chuck) decide that he needs some training. I'd like to see Casey try to teach him to use a gun (imagine the video game references...it would be a hoot if they could play a segment of the game that has Nathan, Alan and ADAM's voices *Halo?*). OR, how 'bout Martial Arts? I'd love to see Anna give Chuck karated lessons! So many possibilities! Fun show. So happy it's back.
And Casey running with the other nerds to see Jeff eat all the twinkies! fun stuff.
Oh, one little nitpick...since they'd given Casey his orders, and he was there to take Chuck out, why didn't they contact HIM as soon as the Intersect (intercect?) was destroyed? Also, Casey would not have killed him in his apartment for his sister to find...Chuck would have 'died in a car accident' or some other way, ya know. But, other than that...good stuff. Oh yeah, I wonder who is going to be taking over now that the General (?) was killed?
AND...call me slow, but I never really understood that the darn thing was SUPPOSED to be used the way Chuck accidently got it. I just thought that was fluke. It wasn't till all those MIB lookin' guys came in the General PUT ON sunglasses, and they took off their's, that I realized they were supposed to be 'downloading' info into THEIR heads to be 'like Chuck'. Duh. Now, what I don't get is, if they are going to have half a dozen guys walking around with all this info in their heads, WHY is it necessary to kill Chuck? He was going to be recruited, why not just TRAIN him? Basically, draft him? I thought the whole point was NOT to have the info in someone's head, where they would/could be at risk. That sorta confused me.
The General is the woman they always talk to. I thought the black guy was the head of the CIA or somewhere in that
realm. He is not in uniform so he is a civilian of some kind. I didn't understand the idea of killing Chuck off either except
for the suspense part of it for the show. What is with not having a date with Sarah? Aren't they still supposed to be boy
friend and girl friend?
I knew they called the woman 'General', I just assumed that the guy was one too.
Wonder who will take his place?
I think the thing is, 'real date' over 'fake date'.
It sounded to me like Chuck has come to the realization that he and Sarah can never really have a relationship...he thinks when they fix the intersect, he'll just go along on his way and she will get reassigned. She's made it clear that while she is 'babysitting' him, they can't have a relationship, except for the 'fake' one. It did seem kind of silly to have a 'date' knowing they couldn't take it anywhere. I think it was just supposed to be sort of a farewell to their relationship, sort of a 'celebration' that Chuck was getting his life back. The date got called off because a major thing just went down, and I have a feeling they were on 'alert' maybe. Still don't know why Sarah was called, but Casey was not.
He would have been in uniform if he was military. She is a one star or Brigadier General. I think Sarah was called
because it was a CIA operation but Casey should have definitely been called since he was supposed to take him out
and needed to be called off pronto. They needed to explain that better. I wonder why Casey was going to do it in
front of Sarah too, was he hoping she would stop him? That part of the show was a little too ambiguous.

I'm assuming he didn't bring his cell phone with him or had it on silent. Not very good assassinating if you get caught because your phone's a ringin'. Sarah was probably called as she was on her way to Chuck's apartment.
That's what I'm guessin'.
Even when they've been on the job, Casey and Sarah have always been in contact with their 'bosses'. That just wasn't thought out. Sarah got the info, but Casey didn't...now, I was confused on the military vs civilian 'bosses', but who's boss was killed? I mean, isn't Casey's boss the lady? And Sarah's boss the man? Or does it even matter? Did they just play it for the suspense and not think we'd be pondering it? I still don't like the clumsy idea of him using a gun on Chuck inside the apartment. No way, no how. They would have all the loose ends tied up in a neat little bow. That was not neat. That was done knowing it wasn't going to happen.
I think Casey takes his marching orders from the female General and the guy that was killed was Sarah's boss and the
head of the CIA or at least the head of that part of it which involves the intersect. I don't know if they ever told us who
he was did they? Could he be head of Homeland Security? Probably not since he looks like he is in charge of the intersect.
I'm so confused. Yeah, him shooting Chuck in the apartment was not right especially when he saw Sarah was
going to show up. It was still a fun episode and I really missed this show.

I just rewatched it with Jessi...so fun!
She thought:
That it was dumb that Chuck would think, and Sarah too, that Chuck would ever be able to 'have his life back'. Since, the whole premise of the show is that they have to protect him cuz of what's in his head. Also, I had a thought...look at how much time has past since they downloaded that into the computer to begin with. What about 'updates'? Seriously. Nearly everything Chuck has in his head is 'old news'. They need to address that. Of course the group wasn't at the same location...who knows how many times they would have moved between when that info was fresh and the present day. Also, wouldn't he have 'flashed' on the info when he saw Colt? Sometimes I think they leave out really obvious things. I like fun, but I don't like sloppy. Even my fantasy needs to be 'real'. I don't think we are meant to think too hard about this. Just enjoy the silliness. Just like when I told Adam

but did ask what I thought of the first lady they had for the part. They only showed her in the pilot and I didn't remember
at the time what she looked like. I have since seen that part again and she was younger and quite pretty, I don't know
why they changed her out of the role other then maybe having someone in the part that looked a little tougher.

It was supposed to go through today. It was under TV Entertainment, Fall Previews, NBC, then it lists season 2 ep 1.
Just checked, it's still there! Ends today though! HURRY!!!
Just got an email from Amazon. If you ordered the S1 DVD's from Amazon, they let you view it online as well. :)
I viewed it on Amazon as well as on demand. On demand has it in their regular Fall Previews section as well as in their
HD section. You have to hunt for it in the HD section but it's there.

So, I was all set to watch the season premier, had the DVR set to record T:SCC, (they are re-airing Chuck on Saturday so I'll record it then, otherwise, with two shows recording, nobody would be able to watch TV!), and along comes my daughter "Mom, dad won't let me watch TV in the living room, can I watch Dancing w/the Stars in your room?" Which just so happened to be where I was watching Chuck! So, knowing it's coming on again, I let her have my TV. So, I won't see it all until Saturday unless I watch it online tonight.
Gotta get another DVR for my room!!

Hmmm, are you sure you can't watch a channel when recording two shows? I can with my DVR. I have Comcast
and it works fine recording while I watch something else. I can also watch something on my DVR while it is recording
two shows too.

Sorry guys, I thought I was one of the last people to get one of these things. It seems like people around me
had been talking about them forever. Finally broke down and ordered one when we had to get our new Comcast
box for the HD TV. *whispers* Actually I have 2 of them since I bought another HD TV. *don't hit me* I replaced
a TV that was 20 years old so I deserved it and it's my Christmas present. :)

Yep, I'm sure. If I'm recording two shows the only option is to watch one of the channels recording. It's a "dual-tuner" DVR.

That is strange. Mine is a dual tuner too but my instruction book says there is no problem taping two shows and watching
something else that is not being taped. I thought I couldn't too when I first got it but It said I could and it worked for me.
I thought most cable companies used basically the same equipment with these. Motorola seemed to have a lock on this
DVR equipment which is what I have.

When I am taping two shows and try to change the channel I get a "pop-up box" that gives me the option to cancel recording and change channel or continue recording and cancel channel change. Ah, well, Friday I'm going by Insight (our local cable co) to pay my bill and I'm gonna go ahead a get a second DVR. With my boy back home, I need to run cable to his room anyway, so I'll just move my box downstairs and put the new DVR in my room. Then I can record FOUR shows...

Okay, I looked on the new DVR I have and they didn't say it had that capability although it didn't say it didn't either.
The older one I have down stairs I believe said it did but I will have to recheck. What I noticed is if the TV is set on
a different channel from the ones I am recording then there does not seem to be a problem watching that channel
while the two are recording. There may be a problem if I wanted to change that channel though.
I'm getting frustrated with Fox this year. They are running over their shows and the DVR is cutting off the tail end of
some. It has happened with Bones twice so it looks like it will be a good idea to add a couple minutes to the end of
their shows this year. What a pain.

Glad it's not just me! I missed the very end of Bones last night. Drives me nuts. My hubby will occasionally record UFC fights on SpikeTV. One day (when I was not home) his show got cut off. He was convinced that this was because the DVR was too full so he went through and deleted a ton of my shows I hadn't watched yet! I was SO mad. He does not understand that if the DVR was full and he had something recording, the DVR would automatically delete the lowest priority show. I could not make him understand that if a show runs over the allotted time it will cut off.
Oh, and back to the reording two shows discussion, if I have the tv on one channel and two diff channels are about to record, it will switch to one of the recording channels when the program starts.

Tell your husband that the DVR is set to record the shows the way they are scheduled and not just to record the show no
matter how far over they go. If something is scheduled in their menu from 8-9 that is what you get unless you add minutes
to the end of it which is what I'm going to do from now on. They don't make it easy to find out how to do this though.
Yes, If you turn something on just as it starts and the others start to record it will try and switch you over but if you turn
the TV on after they have started to record and it is set on a different channel it seems to be fine watching that channel.
It takes a little bit of planning to set the TV on the channel you want to watch and then turn it on after the others start
to record but it worked for my husband unless we just have an odd DVR.
Luckily I was watching Bones last night so I saw the end of it but I usually record it too so I can rewatch it and noticed it
cut off early. It would be nice if it would cut off at the end of the 9 o'clock minute instead of right at the start of turning
9:00. One other episode did that too and I've noticed the others were creeping close. Terminator is cutting it close too,
as it is I don't get to see all of the previews for next week so I guess I will have to add a couple minutes to that too.
Our cable company (usually) sees when a program is scheduled to run a minute or two long and will adjust accordingly.

That's what I thought they would do with the DVR but they don't. The cable company keeps it on if you are watching
it but the DVR cuts off at the scheduled time it was listed.

HULU.com is great.
One of the podcasts I listen to (Galactica Water Cooler) touched on Chuck briefly in this week's episode.
They typically talk Galactica but since that is on extended hiatus, they have been tackling other sci-fi movies/shows in the interim. They've done the Star Wars movies, the Matrix, and finishing up this week with the Terminator franchise. They devote the majority of the show to T:SCC but did talk Chuck for a few. Two of the (really charmingly geeky) hosts saw a few minutes of Chuck on Hulu and bought the DVD box set and fell in love with it. They are Browncoats as well, as they refer to Casey as Jayne and even say Casey is as much Jayne as Cameron is River. They sounded like they were going to devote an episode to Chuck later on; I'll be sure to post when it hits.
But this is one of the best podcasts I've ever heard. Check it out.

Hey, Phyll, got my 2nd DVR today! Got it all hooked up. Set to record T:SCC and a rerun of House (the 1st DVR is recording Chuck and Dancing w/the Stars for my girl). Stupid remote is not working right but they said to take it by the office and get a new one. We'll see how that works. Our tv in the bedroom is ancient, so it probably won't work with the new remote but I'm used to that.

I don't know how I lived without one all these years and now I have two. I kept the VCR
people in business though but it was always so annoying not to be able to tape more than
one show and if you had a cable box you never could use the VCR like it was meant to be
used by taping one show and watching another since with mine anyhow it would only tape
if the TV was set on that channel, so trying to record shows if you went on vacation was
a joke since you could only record one channel. I'll be interested to see if the channel thing
works for you. :)

I didn't buy one. They come with my cable box hook up and we just asked for the DVR when we got new cable boxes
for the HD TVs. The DVR is incorporated in the new cable box. Of course we pay extra for it every month on our bill
but it isn't something we bought separately. I do think that Tivo sets are separate though and some people do have
those kind.

I didn't think I'd EVER get one. But our cable company provides the DVR (so I didn't have to go out and buy a TiVo) and they charge $15 a month. I think that's about what you'd pay for TiVo service, but you have to buy the TiVo box, I believe.

We get ours from the cable company. They cost less per month than the subscription service from Tivo, I can record two channels while watching something I recorded earlier, pause for up to an hour. Usually we pause a show for the first 15 minutes, do chores, fix dinner, whatever, pick up the show and zip through all the commercials.
