[spoiler]Plus it was just the fact that he saw the act, and saw her face as she lied. Truth is, in terms of National Security, war is war. That would be how it would be rationalized. If she'd just said, 'I took care of it', and let it go, he might have been more understanding...the horrific act wasn't necessarily the execution...but the lie. Sad.[/spoiler]
Oh one more thought...
[spoiler]I wonder if Chuck also feels guilty that he didn't follow the original orders to vacate when they first came to rescue him. If he had, none of that would have gone down. Of course one could argue that the 'plant' might then go on a rampage with orders to 'not come out alive' or some such. But, if Chuck had obeyed, Sarah would not have been pushed to that level of 'protection'. Ya know? Also...if the guys were able to that easily take him out, Chuck was wrong to stop them each time they wanted to do it. Ya know? He needs to start learning to follow orders. Poor baby. I wanted to hug both he and Morgan at the end there.[/spoiler]

I don't think he could hear what was being said... All Chuck saw was the guy apparently surrendering and Sarah shooting him instead. If she'd told the truth about it, there wouldn't have been a problem.[/spoiler]

IMO, Chuck should have been aware that Sarah (or Casey) would be put in that situation once someone on the outside found out. They can't risk the person being alive, even if they were in custody. The bad guys would get their friend out of custody and he would spill the beans; Sarah couldn't risk that. I'm surprised she even hesitated on the decision; I would expect it to be a direct standing order that if anyone bad finds out about Chuck, automatic kill.
The lying part - that probably hurt Chuck and that's understandable. But Sarah is trying to protect Chuck and trying to keep him apart from all the spy stuff.[/spoiler]

[spoiler]I always hate episodes when someone misunderstands what is going on and then it takes forever for them to find
out why something was done. Chuck got there too late to hear Mauser say he was going to blow Chuck's cover and
then have him be the target of all the Fulcrum agents. She knew he would be in danger forever if that happened
so he had to go but of course they just show Chuck seeing the guy trying to turn himself in so he is horrified. She
knew he couldn't handle the real truth so she lied but he misunderstands that too. Chuck has to start losing some
of the trust he has in people but I guess that would change the show.

She lied to keep him from freaking out, maybe freaking out MORE??? Chuck could be smarter, but maybe he's written to really fubar all over the place at this stage in the series. It'll be interesting to see how the Tricia Helfer character plays out...

I thought we had gone past some of the dumb stuff he pulls but this episode kind of piled it on again. The misunderstanding
part was overdone too with Chuck not hearing the whole conversation so he was horrified at Sarah killing someone who
was turning himself in, Ana not seeing Morgan be a hero and so still assuming he was a wimp and Morgan not seeing the
end of the kiss that Ana gave Lester so he thinks she likes him now. Now we have to wait a month and a half before anyone
can start to clear it all up. AHHHHH!!!!! I don't like "you didn't see what you thought you saw" shows. They drive me nuts!
I guess Casey will have to be the one to tell Chuck what the Fulcrum agent was really going to do so he can understand
why Sarah did what she did. I guess his naiveness is always going to be part of this show but I wish they would tone it
down a little bit.
Maybe they'll write a musical and there'll be this giant light bulb that turns on over Zac's head and he starts into some jazzy "I've seen the light" number, complete with hat & double breasted suit. Snapping & tapping. This could also be a dream sequence so as not to make the show jump the shark too soon. :popcorn:
