Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse... but you take a boat in the air that you don't love... she'll shake you off just as sure as the turn of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she ought to fall down... tells you she's hurting before she keels. Makes her a home.  -Mal

Does this season suck because they are deviating so much from the books or am I just expecting too much (like it to be as awesome as last year)?

This season does not suck .
Unless awesome is the new hand washing .

;)

:loloeo:

I've been entertained, but it's been a bit slow. Just too much story to fit into 10 episodes. Perhaps they can break up the next book.

The Icelandic scenery was quite stunning.
ps. Knowing that the Shadow creature was not revealed in the book like it was in the show, wow. That would have added to the creepy factor.
Shadow baby ?

Creepifying .

It's nice here with a view of the trees
Eating with a spoon?
They don't give you knives?
'Spect you watch those trees
Blowing in the breeze
We want to see you lead a normal life
Will Catelyn be the one who severs Jamie's hand ? She asked for Brienne's sword
Maybe I am remembering wrong, but...
Didn't she do the same thing in the book and then cut him free and sent him with Brienne  as an escort to trade him for the girls? I thought a chapter ended with her asking for a sword and then the it is revealed that she cut him free with it?
And I'm thinking you weren't burdened with an overabundance of schooling.
I know she lets Jamie go . I'm just thinking it's hard to cut a chain with a sword . I can see how the telescoping of certain plotlines might lead to a maimed Jaimie under Brienne's escort . Kinda hope I'm wrong , but either way I'll trust to the showrunners

They have mentioned the Brotherhood several times on the show now, so I would hope that they keep the story line intact and have the Kingslayer and Lady Tarth get captured by them and have Vargo Hoat order Jamie's behanding.

I liked how he gave Brienne some insults in this episode, since it reflects the book.  Hopefully, they're allowed to do a little journeying and have their epic battle first.
