"Turnabout Intruder" was the very last episode of the original series. IMDB give the synopsis of "An insane woman forcibly switches personalities with Capt. Kirk."
The episode originally ended with Kiirk and Spock walking into the turbolift. Now, some fans have done what happens in the next moments; giving it perhaps an ending more like Star Trek would normally do.
The actors are all minor, though James Doohan's son Chris reprises his fathers role and
Mythbusters' own Grant Imahara is Sulu. The sets, however, are amazing.
I can't find the actual ending from the original series online, but the first video will get you to the next video(she's possessed his body; he's in hers). From there, the new actors do a shot-by-shot remake.

From what I've read, there's going to be at least one more vignette like that and then a full episode. I'm not sure if they're making a whole series or not, but their webpage (http://www.startrekcontinues.com/wordpress/about-us/) says the premise is that the old series only got three years into the five-year mission. So, I would presume they're hoping to do the rest.
Just won't be the same without Elvis T. Frankenkirk.

Is he the Phase II guy? They had nice sets too, plus some great cameos.
Yeah, that's him. They weren't terrible. I guess.
Oh My! Grant sounded a little too much like George.

Yah they were. :neener:
Nah, they were okay for fans. Original series writer DC Fontana wrote one script (A sequel to the Doomsday Device, I believe). I don't recall seeing the Walter Koenig one, but the George Takei ep was fun (I think the woman who played Yeoman Rand was in it too?).
I think it's all cool as heck -- namely the passion in remaking the sets. I can't even imagine some fans faithfully remaking the Serenity for a fan series, especially as a single set.
They were definitely a labor of love. The stories themselves weren't that bad but the acting was atrocious. But hey, at least they had to guts to suit up and try, which is more than I've ever done.
The one with George Takei was awesome. (well HE was awesome in it)

They renamed it to "Phase II" to further differentiate from the movie. Same website though: http://www.startreknewvoyages.com/ (http://www.startreknewvoyages.com/)

Were you being snarky or did you actually know he's a top Elvis impersonator ( I did not know this) ?
James Cawley performing as Elvis at the Great Escape (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfP2ynvdxq8#)
Someone on FARK nailed him with the moniker for just that reason.
Wow! He's really good! So many of the Elvis impersonators are old and fat and ugly as homemade sin.
Granted Elvis didn't look so hot at the end but it is nice to see one that is goodlooking like Elvis once was. :)

America's self-proclaimed first Elvis impersonator.
I hear they are both still alive.

That's great. It's probably a factoid I'll remember long past when I forget my own name.
I'd forgotten about this series until I read that a certain guest actor did something he hadn't in decades: He went green.
Two episodes are up. (http://www.startrekcontinues.com/episodes/) He (and a pretty Orion slave girl) is in the second. I've only seen about thirty minutes, but the sets are amazing.

Haha, awesome. Just from a few glances at YouTube vids, he seems like a nice guy and his fans love him.
I watched the second episode first. His voice bothered me for a while, but it grew on me. I think he's got Shattner's body language down-pat. While I did take a break about twenty minutes or so in, overall the episode was entertaining enough to kill an hour. Plus, as Tink might say, the actresses were enormously talented -- which didn't hurt. ;)
I was a little shocked to find whom played the Commodore.

Just hours to go:
Star Trek Continues 2015 "Kirkstarter 2.0" (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/trekcontinues/star-trek-continues-2015-kirkstarter-20?ref=video)
Wow, Vic's really resembling Shatner in the latest episode. If his voice was a little lower, I'd be completely sold.
I haven't been keeping up with the series and just happened to find out about their latest release. My understanding is that the new official fan film guidelines just wouldn't allow it to be feasible to make anymore.
As you may notice on the preview picture, a
Star Trek: The Next Generation alum guest stars:

If his voice was a bit deeper it would be very good.
It's interesting that a fan made film has just as good or better production value than the original series.
