O0
The Huskers ate the Huskies for lunch. OUCH!
Getting ready to watch the Huskies get their butts kick by #1 Oregon. Why? I'm a glutton for punishment I guess.
Huh? Washington held the Ducks to their first scoreless quarter of the entire year.
3-3 half way through the second. I'll take it.
Go Huskies!
18-6 at the half. I was expecting 28-0 so I'm pretty happy.
18-13!
Oregon is rolling now. :(
Can you say upset? Can you the team that got over 600 yards on you earlier in the season got less than 200 tonight? I can! Go Huskies!
UW is playing the defending national champs today! OK... It's the NCAA Division I FCS National Champion Eastern Washington Eagles, but still.
:headbang:
WOW! My team lost, but that was a very fun game to watch! 67-56!!!! Almost 1200 1400 yards of total offence!!! A running back team with over 400 yards and 8 TDs rushing. A QB with 4 TD passes and 3 TD runs!!!

UW lost a big one to USC. 6-9 320 OT Zach Banner. He is the b astard of UW legend Lincoln Kennedy.
Sounds like a beast.
I despise Lane Kiffin.
He's athletic as hell. He's going to play basketball for USC too.
He's in 10th grade in this video.

UW did get this kid. Funny thing is this video is all offensive highlights, but they recruited him as a DB. Love his athleticism.

A DB who can make plays on the ball ?
Like gold .
:)
Dude runs like a deer!
NOT looking forward to having to go to LSU this year. They are scary good.
All I can say is that I am looking forward to Portland State next weekend.
What!?! UW 17 - Stan 13
:woohoo:
UW defensive coordinator, Justin Wilcox, thinks the Stanford Cardinal offense tastes good.

UW 20 - OR St 17
Second top 10 team UW has knocked off this year and the 5th team in the top 11 that they've played this year.

Not purty, but Washington beat Cal 21-13. Each team had 4 turnovers. There was a stretch where 4 consecutive drives ended in a turnover. For Washington it is the first road win of the year.

An ugly win beats a pretty loss any day of the week.
Second only to a Washington win is a loss by Oregon for a Washington fan. Go Stanford!
The sadness and tears on the faces of the Oregon fans make me smile. >:D

Makes me quite happy as well.
What's that, Optimus Klein & K-State fall as well? >:D
Looks like Bama isn't as out of the BCS as some thought.
Damn. The Huskies look good.
*sigh*
Damn Oregon is good. I think they are better that Alabama. I guess we will find out if they both win out.

Oregon really is that good and Alabama is not. I don't see Bama beating LSU.
Tough loss, sorry Spooky.
R.I.P. Don James (The Dawgfather)

R.I.P. Don James (The Dawgfather)
He was a mentor to Nick Saban and Saban played for him. Saban said at today's press conference that he spoke to Coach James a few weeks ago and told him that he (Saban) still uses what he learned from Coach James years and years ago. After saying that, Saban abruptly ended the press conference. Those in attendance said it wasn't like Saban had tears in his eyes and was choked up or anything like that, but he was clearly emotional over the loss and called the presser short over the question.
Saban's remarks:
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Coach James' family. He was a special man and meant the world to me. There aren't enough words to describe not only the great coach he was, but how much he cared for people and the positive impact he made in the lives of everyone he came in contact with.
Coach James was my mentor and probably did more than anybody to influence me in this profession. Like I've said before, I didn't plan on going into coaching. He saw something in me and asked me to stay on at Kent State as a graduate assistant after my playing career was over. I really enjoyed it, got hired full time and went on from there.
From an organizational standpoint, our program today is run much like he ran his program. He was very organized, efficient, and did an outstanding job of defining expectations for players, coaches and everyone in the organization.
He was always personal and inspirational to players and people around him. He wanted you to reach your full potential as a football player, but more importantly, he wanted you to do well in school and become the best person you could be so you would be successful in life. He was the same way when it came to assistant coaches or anyone who worked for him, you were a better person because of the time you spent with Coach James.
He's legendary around these parts and it's not just because of the National Championship, he was very involved in the community and very kind to everyone he met. You would be hard pressed to find anyone who had something bad to say about the man.
Current Husky coach Steve Sarkisian calls him a mentor as well and he didn't even coach or play for him. His influence on Husky football and the Washington community will outlive us all.
I got to shake his hand before the LSU/Washington game in 2009. Meeting him was cooler than being on the sidelines shooting that game.
He sounds like he was kind of like your Bear Bryant, long-time coach who put the program on the map. I'm sorry to hear of his passing, from what I read he was a great guy.
I didn't realize it until I was pulling the Saban quote but he also coached Gary Pinkell, who now coaches Missouri. 6-0 and #1 in the SEC East and #5 in the BCS rankings. It sounds like Coach James was a heck of a guy, on and off the field.
Spooky, you hate Oregon, right? Of course you do.

:haha:
My brother Jesse will love that!
Not a bad night rushing the ball.
Sankey is the starter and only played the first half and a few snaps at the start of the third. Deontae Cooper is a great story of perseverance. He's had three ACL surgeries in his time at UW and I am happy he got to have a good game. Washington is a freshman and I think he has the potential to be one of the greatest UW running backs of all time when his career is over.
Chris Peterson to UW.
I'm hoping we can hang on to Nuss. The boss hates him, but IMHO Saban is the one holding Nuss back.
I think Chris Peterson is a good choice. Obviously Boise St. isn't a top tier athletic school in a top tier conference, but Boise St. dominated the conference while he was at the helm and went 5-2 in bowl games.
It will be cool to see what he can do with access to better talent. He is walking into a situation where the stadium has had massive renovation and the new training facilities are top 10 at least. It will be interesting to see how he does with the recruits that Sark started recruiting when he was still here. I hope he wins a few of those battles, it will say a lot about him.
9-4 is a respectable season.
