Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse... but you take a boat in the air that you don't love... she'll shake you off just as sure as the turn of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she ought to fall down... tells you she's hurting before she keels. Makes her a home.  -Mal

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles - Season One (2008, DVD)

Extras:

Warner provides a healthy supply of supplemental materials to prep fans for the upcoming second season of the show. Goodies include:

• Commentaries (Disc One and Three) -- There are three commentary tracks, one on the pilot, one on the third episode, 'The Turk,' and one on the finale, 'What He Beheld.' The tracks feature cast and crew and appear to be done all at once, rather than breaking up the different commentators and editing them together. I found all three tracks to be an informative look into the genesis of this first season, from the hard-hitting, violent pilot to the explosive finale. If you like this show, you should find yourself having a good time with the commentary tracks.

• Documentary: Creating the Chronicles (Disc One) -- Broken into three segments, this documentary runs about 40 minutes and covers a variety of topics including production design, casting, scripting, effects. There are interviews with the cast and crew paired with behind the scenes on-set footage and effects tests. Overall, this is a nice inside look into the creation of this elaborate, and expensive, TV series.

• Gag Reel (Disc One) -- The usual yucks and on-set goofs. Funny.

• Terminated Scenes (Discs One, Two and Three) -- Deleted bits that certainly add more character to the show, but also bog down the pace just a touch.

• Storyboard Animatics (Disc Two) -- An animatic version of the school shootout scene from the pilot. This is as close as we get to an extended version of that scene.

• Cast Audition Tapes (Disc Two) -- An interesting look at the casting process. The search for the new John Connor was quite extensive and I think the producers made a great choice. Dekker's John Connor is complex, lonely, heroic and afraid--a great combination for such an emotionally mysterious character.

• Summer Glau's Dance Rehearsal (Disc Two) -- For those unaware, Summer Glau is a renowned dancer, which enables her to do all those ultra high kicks without batting an eye. Here, we get an inside look into her process.

• Extended Version of Episode Seven (Disc Three) -- Unfortunately, the original extended cut of the Pilot is nowhere to be found, but at least we get a more fleshed out version of 'The Demon Hand,' a great episode in this first season.

Sadly, no promo material for the second season is shown. I guess they waited until Comic Con to unveil that.
