Seriously though. If you've had any inkling of becoming and MMA fan then Faber is the guy to watch (Along with Georges St.-Pierre and Anderson Silva in the UFC) . Skillzzzz I tell ya, he's got 'em!

A mixed martial arts fighter and his wife have been found shot to death in a California home in what authorities say was an apparent murder-suicide.

Orange County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jim Amormino said the bodies of Justin Levens and his wife Sarah McLean-Levens were found Wednesday afternoon in a Laguna Niguel condominium by McLean-Leven's mother after she hadn't heard from her daughter in five days.

"That was out of the ordinary for them," Amormino told FOXNews.com.

The couple later was found by police officials in their bed, Amormino said, with a handgun near Levens' body. Painkillers and anti-depressants also were found in the home, although authorities weren't immediately sure Levens had prescriptions for the medications, Amormino said.

Autopsies were performed on the bodies late Thursday. Levens, 28, died from a single gunshot wound to the head. McLean-Levens suffered a gunshot wound to the chest that pierced her heart, Amormino said, adding that Levens was believed to be the shooter.

Levens competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship and other fighting federations. The couple had been married for roughly a year, Amormino said.

Authorities had been called to couple's home in October for a report of an overdose, but Amormino said it was immediately unclear who was treated at the time.

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. -- A man was killed and a woman was injured early Wednesday when a speeding red Ferrari crashed into a light pole in Newport Beach, and the driver of a white Porsche was arrested as police investigate whether a street race led to the wreck.

The deceased was identified as TapouT clothing line owner Charles Lewis Jr., according to TMZ.com.

The crash on southbound Jamboree Road near Camelback Street occurred just before 1 a.m., according to Newport Beach Police Lt. Craig Fox.

An officer in a patrol car was going north on Jamboree when he noticed two vehicles, a 2004 Ferrari Modena and a 1977 white Porsche coupe, swerving out of control, Fox said.

"Apparently they had collided and this was the aftermath of the collision," Fox said.

The Ferrari hit a light pole, knocking it over, while the impact of the crash broke the car in half and left the front portion of the high-performance Italian sports car crushed by the light pole.

Fox said the wreckage was such that "we don't know if he was the driver."

"It was a very violent crash," Fox said.

A woman thrown from the car was taken to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana suffering from broken bones, including a broken arm, Fox said.

"He apparently lost control of the vehicle, hit the curb and a light pole," said Lt. Steve Shulman. "It broke up in several pieces."

The driver of the Porsche did not stop and drove away, but another officer spotted the vehicle on Bison Avenue, west of Jamboree, Fox said. A man and woman who were walking away were arrested, he said.

Jeffrey David Kirby, 51, of Costa Mesa, was booked on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter with DUI. Lynn Marie Nabozny, 32, of Newport Beach, was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication but was later released, Fox said.

Kirby was being held in lieu of $1 million bail, he said.

Skid marks at the scene indicate the cars were traveling at a high rate of speed, the lieutenant said.

The name of the woman in the Ferrari was not immediately available, and the man's name will be released after family members are notified, Fox said.

Street Racing is one of the most retarded ways to die .

Too bad they often take out pedestrians/one coming drivers as a matter of routine .

While it's tragic a man died , I'm glad he died alone .

And the other racer ought to be charged with Vehicular Manslaughter or the like .

Kinda figured that .

It's a problem up here in many Canadian cities .
Especially Vancouver and the drivers are nearly always Asians .

I agree that if someone was going to die, that it should be the drivers in cases like this. His family and friends can't blame anyone but him for his death ('cept maybe the other driver). I think he was stupid, but I liked the guy and am very bummed that he's not here anymore. :(

PS. I hope the young lady that was thrown from his car ends up recovering.

It's kinda like drunk drivers, except they usually kill other people, but they survive.

Called the hubby to tell him about The Mask, he's pretty bummed.

Got to watch a coworker fight in his first Kick Boxing fight. The fight card had a mix of Kick Boxing and MMA fights. It was a blast!  I got to sit next to the ring girls (until I found out I was in the wrong section), sorry, no photos. :( Also, I was told to leave my "real" camera in the car, so I had to take photos with my camera phone. :(

Anyway, my coworker, Drew Dambreville, won his fight. It was awesome! He almost knocked the guy out with a head kick in the first round, but the dude recovered and Drew ended up winning the 3 round fight with a unanimous decision.

Only MMA fans will care, but I got to meet Rich "Ace" Franklin (former UFC Light-Heavyweight champ) at the fight. He is the chairman of the association that put on the fight and he also has trained with Drew and cornered a few of the fighters.

Also he said they were looking for someone to setup a photo booth at their fights so they can take photos of the fans with the fighters and ring girls, for a fee of course, and asked if I knew anyone with a portable printer.. Drew said he saw a photo booth setup at another fight show and the guy said they took about 80 photos at $40/per. Half went to the fight organizers and half to the photographers. Thing is, that fight show was much smaller that the one I will be hopefully working. That means potentially MORE money! Crossing my fingers that I can get this off the ground!!!

I used to do hockey tournaments and swim meets .
We fell prey to the fact that everyone and his dog obtained a digital camera .
Still the first few years were very shiny .
A good tournament could bring in a couple thousand dollars .

At least you'll have an area to yourself .

I would advise a second printer .
( and camera for that matter )

Strictly for back up .

I still can't believe that Tyson Griffin went on to win this fight after what happened in the first round. It's not for the faint of heart. At about the 3:20 mark of the video he gets caught in a leg compression move that is just wicked!

Charles Lewis Jr., the tapout founder better known as "Mask," was not on drugs or alcohol at the time of his fatal automobile accident last month, the Orange County District Attorney's Office recently confirmed with ocregister.com.

Lewis died on March 11 in Newport Beach, Calif., when his vehicle was struck by another car driven by Jeffrey David Kirby, a two-time DUI convict who was allegedly intoxicated during his latest arrest.

The collision forced Lewis' Ferrari over a curb and into a utility poll, which nearly cut the car into two pieces. Lewis, 45, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kirby, 51, has since been charged with vehicular manslaughter, driving under the influence, and fleeing the scene. He's being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.

Toxicology tests performed by the Orange County Coroner detected no evidence of drugs or alcohol in Lewis' system. The entrepreneur and TV host's friends had maintained since the accident that Lewis didn't drink or do drugs.

Lewis' 23-year-old girlfriend was ejected from the car during the collision. Lacy Lynn White suffered multiple injuries, including a fractured elbow, but was eventually released from the hospital.

Kirby twice had been convicted of past DUI offenses. He now faces a maximum sentence of 19 years and eight months in state prison if convicted of the new charges.

Lewis founded Tapout Clothing Inc. in 1997 with a trunk full of T-shirts and a few thousand dollars of start-up money. Over the past decade, he and his partners have made the company the biggest apparel success story in MMA.

Tapout, which grossed just $30,000 in sales in 1999, pushed that number to more than $100 million in 2008 alone. The company now has licensed retailers (including the likes of Dillard's and Champs) around the world and is one of the UFC's most prominent sponsors.

Lewis was a fixture at MMA events around the world, and his company sponsored numerous fighters. He also appeared in a TapouT TV show that airs on Versus.

A public memorial service to honor Lewis is being held April 14 at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, Calif.

The man , with a clear mind , engaged in a stree race which is something I'd ascribe to being not in control of one's facilties .

( I know the insuraunce would be prohibitive - but shouldn't there be places for street racers to hone/indulge their abilities away from city/town streets ? )

I read a report, I'll see if I can find it, but it looks like he wasn't racing. The drunk idiot in the Porsche was trying to goad him into racing and ended up running him off the road.

In the early-morning hours, after Kyle Maynard lost his mixed-martial-arts amateur debut, the congenital amputee sat with promoter David Oblas decompressing from the event's stress.

The pair relaxed in a house they rented in Auburn, Ala., to prepare for the Auburn Fight Night, where Maynard – who was born without elbows or knees or arms or legs below them – lost a three-round decision in his controversial first appearance.

"I asked him, 'Honestly, do you want to do this again,'" Oblas, president of Undisputed Productions, told MMAjunkie.com. "He said, 'Hell yeah I do.'"

Maynard's fight showed some successes and some flaws that would need to be considered if he does indeed re-enter the cage. While the fight wasn't the disaster many feared and Maynard left the Auburn Covered Arena without any major physical damage – thus proving he could successfully defend himself – opponent Bryan Fry displayed the relatively easy strategy that could keep Maynard from winning future fights.

Fry distanced himself from the former high-school wrestler, not letting Maynard get close enough to use the strength unusual for a 135-pounder. In chasing Fry around the cage, Maynard faced exhaustion, especially on the humid night that kept him from attaching gloves to his hands.

"He got popped pretty good three or four times," Oblas said. "He was proud that he could take a punch. You never really know until it happens."

Oblas said he had "six or seven" potential opponents fall through before settling on Fry. And even that was a difficult sell, as Fry first agreed to the fight before calling Oblas back and saying his parents didn't want him to face Maynard. After everyone involved viewed videos of Maynard training, though, their concerns were relaxed and Fry was again the opponent.

"I made well over 100 calls to find someone," Oblas said.

Many were concerned that Maynard was simply the subject of a publicity stunt, but Maynard himself stressed that he was a longtime MMA fan and had been heavily interested in and training for the sport for nearly four years, since he attended a Randy Couture fight as a behind-the-scenes guest.

In 2007, the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission denied Maynard a license to fight in one of Oblas' Wild Bill's Fight Night events. That led Maynard to choose a fight in Alabama, where there is no MMA overseeing body.

Oblas said he and Maynard now plan to re-approach the Georgia commission and again apply for a license. They'll take the tape of Maynard's fight and hope to prove that Maynard is in no significant danger by entering the cage.

If he is again denied, Maynard could seek another fight in Alabama, and Oblas said he would not hesitate to serve as promoter again.

"I feel totally comfortable promoting another Kyle Maynard fight," Oblas said. "He just needs to go back to the drawing board and see how he can win a fight.

"Just knowing Kyle, I don't see him going out on a loss. I think we'll definitely see him fight again."

So at the fight last week I met the editor/owner of NW Fight Scene Magazine (an up and coming quarterly publication) we talked about camera stuff and MMA,he also mentioned  he was looking for photogs to help him shoot fights but I lost track of him before I could get more info . Anyway, I went to another fight tonight and ran into him again and he said he wished we would had been in contact because he needed another photog for the event. It was too late to get me a press pass, but he now has my info and I am on his call list for photogs! :)

Back home from shooting the fight. That was a lot of fun and a lot of hard work, but so worth it! I think I got some really good shots, but more important to me at this point was the networking. I met several local promoters and traded info with them. I met a representative of Tapout (the largest Mixed Martial Arts clothing brand the have a magazine as well) and he said he wants to use my photos. If everyone likes my photos, this could lead to some paid gigs! I'll post some shots latter tomorrow.

What a great night! Got to meet Urijah Faber, one of my favorite fighters, tonight. I got to the fight early and was able to chat with him for a few minutes. I was going to ask to do an interview, but he started signing autographs, so I had him sign the back of my press pass.

There was a rep from Tapout (Bret Atchley) at the fight, I know him pretty well now and he talked Faber's manager into getting a few minutes of face time and Bret let me tag along. I had my voice recorder and recorded the whole thing and even asked a few halfhearted questions. I learned a lot from listening Bret. He's done a ton of interviews and I am happy he let me hang with him.

Well, we got there about five minutes before things were supposed to start, so no ringside seats left. No biggie, I didn't feel like arguing the point at this point. Also, bear in mind that this was the first MMA type thing Montgomery has ever seen. All the 'talent' was pretty much local. Spooky, you'd recognize none of these names. Two guys had the nickname of "Badass" and they got their butts whipped. I think a couple of guys were from neighboring states, but most were from the tri-county area. I paid nothing for these tickets and I got my money's worth. Had I paid more than 10-15 bucks a pop I would have been PO'ed. I enjoyed it, but...

Anyway, first match tapped out in 47 seconds. There were 8-10 matches, only three of which went beyond the first round and only one of those all three. There was some nice wailing on folks, but the fights were too uneven, I guess. Bear in mind this was the first MMA stuff I'd even seen, but most of them were over in less than a minute. I did enjoy it, if I can score some free tickets next time, I'll go again. There were two times towels were thrown it, the ref stopped a couple of matches, it was pretty fun.

The funnest match was when one fighter came out to "Crazy Train" and the other came out to "Beat It". "Crazy Train" grabbed another the "Beat It" guy's head and kneed him in the face about ten times real quick. Knocked him out in like 30 seconds. All the while, the audience was yelling "You got beated, just beated..."

But the big disappointment were the co-main events. The fight between the ladies was terrible, and I found out why later. One was a very good fighter, and the other, well, fought like a girl. Turns out the other fighter had dropped out a few hours before the match and the loser subbed with about five hours to spare. The loser got a huge round of applause for being such a trooper.

But the biggest disappointment was the last fight. It didn't even last 20 seconds. 18 seconds in, the ref stopped the fight because one of the fighters said he broke his hand.  Nobody was happy. The promoter was standing in the back and when the ref called the fight and the booing started, he ducked out.

Anyway, there is another scheduled for November and again in February and I'll probably go again.

That's quite common in small/start up promotions. I couldn't find much (nothing really) on Google about "Dragon Fist Productions", so I will assume they are a start up. Start ups are usually several local gyms banding together to promote their fighters.  They tend to pit their fighters against known lesser talent, for obvious reasons. They want to build their brand and have stars to point to for the next event. It also helps them draw new people to their gyms.

There very few skilled female fighters. I think there may be only half a dozen here in Wa.. After these girls have faced each other a couple of times they have to travel to other states to face other girls with similar skills. The couple of local female fights I've seen have been one sided. I did get to see two of the top female fighters go at it when Strikeforce came to town.

Great fight and worth the watch. This was the first time a professional woman's mma event had 5 minute round like the guys (used to be 3 min). I was able to snap a few photos of these badass ladies during their entrances.

I've seen several fights called to early by refs.

...snapped two bones in his right hand in the 1st rd of his 5 rd title fight and messes up his left hand in the 3rd, yet finished the fight. He lost, but that is one tough SOB. It was very cool getting to meet him last Friday.

Just gave a friend $30 to put on an MMA fight this Saturday (her and her hubby are going to Vegas tomorrow). It's a fighter that I don't like and he is the cards biggest under dog... I don't know why? I guess I like throwing my money away.

Whoa! Bisping was impressive. Got himself into trouble in the first, but used juijitsu skills I didn't know he had (against a BJJ black belt) to stay alive. In the second he dominated. He hurt Kang and then never let up. I agree with Rogan that is was the best performance I've seen from Bisping and that's saying something, because I don't like him as a person and look for any reason to root against him.

The short guy (Pat Barry) is 5'11" and weighs 230. The tall guy (Stefan Struve) is 6'11" and weights about 240. They are both heavyweight MMA  fighters. Hard to tell from the photo.

So 47 year old Herschel Walker wins his first MMA fight on Saturday. Just watched some clips. The man is in phenomenal shape (for any age) and showed pretty good technique, but had his opponent been of a bit higher quality, the mistakes he made would have cost him. That said, I was impressed and was expecting not to be.

What a 47 year old MMA fight might look like.

Bad cardio gets a lot fighters. I've seen fights were one guy is dominating, but just can't finish the fight and then BAM the cardio monster hits him and he ends up getting his arse kicked.

I didn't attend so I can't say , but Toni ( Joy's daughter) said he got caught in a couple of holds and that was it .
She says he was ahead until then ( not sure if that's true - Trit's Digby fans are pretty biased )

It's possible , but realistically , his shot at a big payday is pretty slim .

He fights mostly because he just loves the art .

( Tristan does not act up out of the ring - he's a first rate gentleman and is extremely polite , ergo - he lacks that mean streak found in most champions )

I find that's true of most fighters. Obviously there are the exceptions.

I've had the opportunity to meet a few UFC/WEC champs/former champs and I have to say they were very, very nice people. Former UFC 185 lbs champ Rich Franklin is about the nicest guy you could meet He was very personable. Former WEC 145 lbs champ Uriah Faber was equally personable and went out of his way to to talk to the staff that was setting up the show he was a guest at and current UFC 205 champ Anderson Silva was very shy, but took time to talk to every fan that came up to him, even though his english is not very good (He's Brazilian).

Now that I'm thinking of it, every pro fighter I've met has been a gentleman. Time to drop some more names.  8)

Ivan Salavary, Matt Hume, Brad Blackburn, Maurice Smith, Reese Andy, Dennis Hallman (OK, he did act like a jerk to one of his employees when they were setting up an event), Matt Brown, Mario Miranda, Demetrious Johnson and Chael Sonnen.

I've been to *one* fight ( Trit's loss in Digby , I did do the pictures though ) so i know nothing of the behavior of fighters .

But most hockey players are very polite too so perhaps it's something to do with discipline .

The WEC is no more. They had their last event tonight. They will be folded into the UFC. I don't think it could have ended on a better note. The kick in the clip below was from the 155 WEC title fight. The winner (Anthony 'Showtime' Pettis) gets to face the UFC champ next year.

I don't know if you have to be a fan to really appreciate the the kick in the clip blow, but there has been nuthin' like it in MMA. It's like one of those moves you see in a movie, but know it could never happen in a real fight. Except it can.  :ninja: I believe in Ninjas now.

Shields is a very good fighter (he left Strikeforce as their champ) and every fighter has a puncher's chance when it comes to combat sports, but GSP is a high level athlete (much higher than Shields) and he a person who works very hard to master his craft and shore up his weaknesses. Some people consider him the best pound for pound fighter in MMA (me included) and he is considered a scientist when it comes to tactics and forming a game plan against specific fighters. He also is very good at sticking to his game plan and exploiting the weaknesses of his opponent time and time again. Also, he doesn't make many mistakes (aside from the Serra fight in 2007). There aren't very many opportunities for his opponent to cause a lot of damage to him. So, to make a long answer even longer, yes, I think he will win.  :D

Steven Seagal sure does take this secret stuff seriously. When he has a secret he is very particular about the select few people he shares information with. Luckily, all of us are on his very exclusive list of trustworthy secret keepers. Only the very best make it on this list. I can guarantee there are no six year olds on this list because six year olds are horrible secret keepers. They tell everything. I know this one six year old, who walked in and told my old boss that his Mom thinks he looks like Gollum from the Lord of the Rings. Way to go, kid. Thanks a bunch.

Luckily, we aren't like six year olds and we met the one very important requirement to make the Steven Seagal secret keeper list by simply reading coming across a Fighters Only magazine article about an interview he did with UOL Esportes. Amazing. In this super secret revelaing interview he tells Fighters Only that he in fact is still training with Machida and Silva and some other Blackhouse MMA fighters:

Quote"I'm training other types of kicks, knees, elbows and strikes with them and I am also training their footwork. You have to wait for the new things which we're working out...I'm teaching other fighters but it is something secret."

So now that Machida and Silva have both won and are crediting Seagal with helping them perfect their fight winning similar but different front kick techniques, we all just have to wait and see who from Blackhouse will be next to use a Seagal move.  Maybe it won't be a kick at all this time, but instead a debilitating thumb grab style takedown.

So a local guy (Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson) I've had the pleasure of covering for NWFS a few times is making his way up the ranks of the UFC. He fought last weekend and won a very, very close decision. Some fans are upset with the decision, but now that they found out that he fought half the fight with a broken leg... They should stop complaining!

Digby's own Tristan Johnston took a unanimous decision last night in the Score Fighting Series at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada


"William Romero vs. Tristan Johnson
Round 1
Johnson presses forward quickly, but Romero circles away, using his kicks to keep him at bay. Romero launches an errant kick, Johnson lunges into a right cross that just misses. Johnson presses further, and catches a Romero kick. Johnson lands a clean right counter that puts Romero on the mat. Romero is instantly lucid, kicking his legs to keep his lanky foe from attacking from the top. Johnson stands in Romero's guard, dropping rights and lefts as Romero twists around his leg, looking for a leglock. Johnson cracks Romero with two more hard rights, and the Bellator veteran scrambles back to his feet. Johnson lands another long right, and follows with a hard inside low kick that Romero takes flush. "Leon" explodes with a head kick that rings Johnson's bell. Johnson drives forward for a takedown, but gets stood up along the fence. Both men pummeling, and Romero tries to drag Johnson to the canvas with over-unders. Johnson reverses and gets a late takedown at the bell. Sherdog.com sees the round 10-9 for Tristan Johnson.

Round 2
Left straight and a head kick lands for Romero, and he follows up with a takedown into Johnson's guard. He gets to side control, punching away at Johnson's ribs, but the Nova Scotian gets back to his feet. Back in the standup, Johnson is scoring with combinations of punches as well as kicks to the head and body. Romero is content to throw single strikes. Romero continues to launch head kicks which are blocked. Left straight and a right hook from Johnson backs Romero up. Body kick lands for Romero. Hard right lands for Johnson. The pace is beginning to slow, with both men bleeding from the nose and mouth. Romero attacks Johnson with a salvo of wild strikes at the bell. Sherdog.com sees the second frame 10-9 Romero.

Round 3
Hard low kick from Romero. Johnson counters a jab with an overhand right, and he follows with a one-two that finds that mark. Romero seems to be tired, and goes for a bodylock takedown which Johnson shrugs off. Romero lands a right cross and a counter left before clinching, but Johnson escapes him again. Left-right for Johnson. Romero comes back with a right cross and a front kick. Very close round, but Sherdog.com sees it 10-9 for Tristan Johnson, and 29-28 for him overall.

Official scores: All three judges score the bout 29-28 for the winner by unanimous decision, Tristan Johnson.

There are a lot of really, really nice guys in the UFC and I've met more than a few. There is also a fair share of asshats in the UFC, but being nice doesn't mean you can't be a competitive fighter. Mighty Mouse, who I linked earlier, is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. You would never know he was a fighter if you saw him in street clothes and had a chance to talk to him.

I honestly think being a good MMA fighter comes down to working very, very hard and working every day to try and master as many martial arts skills as you can. The more techniques you can master the bigger your swiss army knife is when you get into the cage and that allows you to take advantage of the mistakes the other guy makes. Sure there will be the super athletes that can out speed/power their opponent, but if the super athlete is lacking in skill, then one day he will run into the guy who isn't a top notch athlete, but has much more skill and the guy with the skill will kick the super athletes arse.

Obviously the UFC has it's fair share of super athletes that have a lot of skill and those dudes are hard to beat, but there is always someone who is leaning and mastering the skills better and they always find their way to the top.

Check out this guy, Roy Nelson, he does not look like a fighter, but is a a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under one of the  Gracies and is one of the top heavyweights in the UFC.

The Kinect is neat technology, but there just aren't many good games out for it right now.  Since buying ours, we've hardly had the time to play the ones we have.

Gunstringer was on my must-have list until it was recently announced it was moving from the xBox Live Arcade store to a full-fledged game package.  We'll see on that one.

Star Wars may also become a must-have, just because.

Not sure about UFC personal trainer.

While most would agree that MMA fighters are tough guys, sometimes you have to realize when you are in a bad position and tap out instead of proving how tough you are. "Tap or snap" is the saying and this video illustrates it quite well. guy should have tapped out!

Mighty Mouse!!!!

Demetrious "Might Mouse" Johnson, a local guy, is fighting for the UFC bantam weight belt tomorrow! I've had the pleasure of getting to know him a little. I think I've seen him fight 5 times in local shows and now he's got a chance to be considered the best 135 pound fighter in the world.

I wish I could be shooting his title fight tomorrow in D.C..

Last night -

Nova Scotia's Tristan Johnson and Ontario's Lyndon Whitlock had an action packed first round in their fight. Whitlock tried to bring the fight to the ground, but Johnson's defence was too much for him. Johnson's striking found its target and eventually dropped Whitlock to the canvas where the referee stopped the bout.

"My ground game is not a joke," boasted Johnson, a former boxer. "I can beat you on the ground. I am not just a striker anymore."

The two were at a house party and began wrestling around on an inflated mattress when the 14-year-old, 110 lbs. younger cousin placed Arceneaux in a Rear Naked Choke. After 30-40 seconds, witnesses noticed Arceneaux was turning blue so the choke was released. Arceneaux's girlfriend tried unsuccessfully to revive him before he was transported to the hostpital where he was pronounced dead.

I know Brett pretty well (not as well as I thought, it would seem) and I never saw him treat anyone with anything but respect (even when he was drunk). He was at most of the MMA events I covered as a photographer and I would talk with him before and after the fights. We've shared more that a few beers and I have seen him drunk around female fighters and pretty ring girls at after parties and he never acted inappropriately towards them. I'm just stunned.

He has a passion for MMA and when he started his WMMA management venture he named it after his autistic daughter, Addison. I haven seem him in over a year, but I do talk to him on FB from time to time. I want to ask him what's up, but I don't know if I will get the truth or not. He did blow it off on FB already.

Crazy athleticism. Did some reading on him. his dad was a pro body builder and he had, Sage (the kid in the gif), doing push-ups and sit-ups since he was a wee little one.

It's the nature of the sport. I do think the refs should step in a lot quicker, but there have been many instances in MMA where you tink the fight should be stopped and then the person comes back and wins the fight. Typically in an MMA fighter gets knocked down, and the other person starts pounding on them, it gets called pretty quickly. They still take a lot less punishment that boxers take. Boxers get knocked down and get a standing eight count and then get to keep on fighting and sometimes get knocked down many times during the fight. The total amount of head shots a boxer takes in far higher than an MMA fighter. Either way, combat sports are brutal.

Irishman, Conor Foookin' McGregor, is a two weight division champ. Unreal. I know I am the only MMA fan here, but had to talk about last night victory by Conor. He has been the 145 lbs champ for a while and got a chance to fight the 155 lbs champ, Eddie Alvarez, and made him look like he didn't belong in the same cage as him. He made a legit champ look like he didn't know what he was doing. Crazy.

The UFC desperately wants her to win. Women's MMA took a big hit when she lost. I don't know why, but most of the other girls don't draw the attention that she does to the sport. Ronda has an appeal that the other women lack. It's not always a good appeal. Some like her and some hate her, but everyone wants to watch her fight.

Since she has been gone, there have been a lot of technical strikers move up the ranks. Ronda has good striking and phenomenal grappling. He grappling won her most of her fights, if she hasn't improved her punches and kicks, she may be in for a rough ride against Nunes.
